    Hi guys,

I'm running a contest for folk to design their very own BJJ uniform and I've managed to convince a gi maker (Tatami Fightwear) to offer prizes for best entries and even make the actual winning gi as the top prize!

Here is the link on how to enter:
Crazy-ass BJJ Gi Challenge: How To Enter

and here is one design I made up as an example:

You'll find a template on the How To page linked above, feel free to use that or come up with your own.

    Some rules:
    1. Try to come up with something creative, personal and original to you.
    2. Try to avoid using copyrighted images and logos, although we are accepting 'fan' art
    3. Closing date is Sept 15th.

Check out the contest Facebook group to see all the entries so far.

    Thanks guys and good luck!

Awesome! I'm going to try this out. As an aside, does anyone know of any custom gi makers who will do this on a regular basis?

Check ALMA out, I made one just for fun and it looked sick, their from japan though so it's probably pretty expensive to ship.

    Hi guys,

Thanks for postive vibes on this, good luck look forward to seeing your entries.

Forgot to add, there are prizes in three categories:

    (1) Most Awesome Custom Design - the winner gets their gi dream made into reality.

    (2) Most Crazy Far Fetched Design - unmakeable but wow this winner gets a top of the range gi from Tatami.

    (3) Funniest - ok you'd never in your right mind wear this design, but it was a funny idea so again, a top of the range gi to this winner.

and lots of runner up prizes too from the sponsor.

We've had nearly 300 entries so far and so far had a lot fo really strong (and funny and crazy) entries too. Here are a few examples:

Ideas are more important than execution. Not everyone has adobe illustrator and photoshop. I'm getting entries from people using MS Paint and the idea behind the sketch is so good, they are defo contenders.

For example, I sketched another example on the back of an envelope (okay I inverted the colours in PS but you get the idea):

And here are a couple more from people who used very simple tools:

One more tip: I think I've had enough entries showing: skeletons, Brazilian flags, Super comic book heroes and Kill bill/Bruce Lee outfits.:D

    Ta!

The Great Wave one is slick.

    I didn't design that one.

    I swear.

    Ok I lied.
