Why?
My reasoning: With the new ESPN deal that gives them flat PPV rates (up to a point) the UFC is longer dependent superstars to make money. The real money now comes from contracted revenue from putting on shows.
Dana been in this business and has seen stars come and go Chuck, Anderson, Ronda etc. Conor is no different. Whoever wins this fight won't matter in the long run of the company.
What's more important is that he consistently puts out an entertaining product. That will raise the overall value of the brand. Putting myself in his shoes I'd be far more concerned about all of the logistical details that go into making the show goes off without a hitch.
For example, the broadcast cutting off for an extended period of time at a key moment, audio issues, staff backstage botching their responsibilities, or some graphic injury occurring in the middle of the show would be of far greater concern than whoever wins a certain fight.
That's the bigger picture here.
