Elections Conservatives: Are You Mad At Jo Jorgenson Voters?

Are you upset that Jorgensen stole votes from Trump?

You're not understanding the argument. Why on Earth would a principled libertarian favor Trump over Biden? But environmentalists or socialists who care more about other people than their own ego would support Biden over Trump. So people point out that your narcissistic political participation style is hurting real people, even by your own standards. Just as Nader's vanity/spite campaign caused massive harm to the nation and the world (no Iraq war without Nader, we would have made much more environmental progress, etc.).

No, you can vote for whomever you want and you don't owe anybody your vote. Definitely would have been a bit more balanced if all those states had also allowed the green party on there as well, but in the end, the presidential race really wasn't nearly as important as they tried to make it out to be. It would have been far more consequential if they'd succeeded at unseating McConnell, Graham and Collins.

As someone that kind of leans towarads libertarianism but sees the Libertarian party as somewhat crazy I found it amusing that at lot of the swing states had no left leaning third party. I'm proud that my crazy ass Libertarian brothers have conviction. It makes ranked voting an interesting option.

The outrage over the Green Party in 2016 was pretty funny.

As long as votes are earned through hard work and laying out their policies I don't then the votes are deserved.

No, people are free to vote for who they'd like.

I do find it somewhat hypocritical that some of the pro gun lp members would rather vote for an impossibility vs against the most openly anti gun candidate that I can remember. But it's their right to vote for Kayne if they wanted.

Edit let me clarify my hypocritical comment. Online there are many nearly single issue voters that voted for Jo stating Trump lost their vote because he has been far from pro gun and Jo wants to abolish the atf.

No, why would I be? People should vote for the candidate that they feel represents them. Trump isn't anything close to a libertarian, so I would never expect a libertarian to vote for him.

I'm just curious if conservatives are mad.

I mean, I'm on twitter. I know they are. So I mean Sherdog conservatives in general.

Blow it out your ass, Jack. Go back to time out.

Great discussion, as always. Anyone who disagrees with you or points out a mistake you make is an evil monster. Keeping protecting yourself from having to think. It's dangerous!

Am I missing something here? Is this carry over from another thread?

There are a lot of not even necessarily Trump supporters but Trump or pro gun voters that are mad as hell at pro 2a Jo Jorgensen voters. I don't see an issue with the question so I must be missing something here.

Also there are some extremely pro gun openly racist ancaps that vote LP.

Yeah, Jack likes to come for me and tell me I have blood on my hands (not even an exaggeration) because I refuse to vote for corporatist liberal Democrats.

I don't see your point, libertarians are originally anarchists, I'm myself an anarchist, so far left.

Calling us libs knowing we're on the left of a bernie is quite weird.

I get where you're coming from, all the categories are pretty messy.
But I really think the "left" axis is about egalitarianism. This is how I see it:
  • Far-right actively works to preserve and support structures of social hierarchy. Egalitarianism negative.
  • Libertarians actively work to destroy some structures of social hierarchy but support others. Egalitarianism negative.
  • Anarchist actively works to destroy all structures of social hierarchy, but are agnostic towards natural emerging hierarchies. Egalitarianism neutral.
  • Far-left actively works to employ new structures that dissolve all forms of social hierarchy. Egalitarianism is a positive.
Obviously, nobody fits perfectly in any of these, and there are all sorts of overlap, and people who lie about their true motives and direction.

I don't see Libertarians on the left end of the spectrum, because they don't believe that egalitarianism is really a primary goal.

I guess the difference, is if you chart this, do you see zero as your center or zero as the far left corner of your graph.
I see Anarchist as a zero value and see Leftists as a non-zero negative value.

I’d rather help the libertarian party get to 15% of the votes than vote either Republican or Democrat. It’s 3rd party or I’m not voting at all.

Enjoyed your answer, will answer tomorrow if I'm not too tired.
(Speaking about theory in english is hard for me)

I think it takes nerve to vote outside of the two major parties.
More should do it.

Al Jourgensen > Jo Jorgensen

The thread is premised on @BEER's dishonest description of opposition to vanity voting.

It's comical how dishonest you are. Sad existence.
