Sorry, haven't been watching long enough to know why:

A. Romero misses weight, but still is allowed to fight. He only wins a lesser purse as a consequence. The loss still counts against Rockhold?

B. Khabib missed weight, and the bout gets cancelled.

Who decides this?

Title shot, well for Yoel anyway plus he slithered his way out of his positive PED test as well due to loopholes in the law, he gets awarded every time he fucks up literally

Khabib didn't just miss weight, he was physically unable to compete because of the severe weight cut, had to be hospitalized I think. Romero missed weight but was otherwise able to fight.
So yes, loss counts against Rockhold, but Romero gets paid less and doesn't get the interim title.

khabib wasnt cleared by the docs for his weight cut

4 weeks notice, first time miss, leg injury and it was just 2 lbs at 185 lbs which is nothing.

Im a huge khabib fan but he didn't try to get a catchweight. He tried balls out to make weight and ended up hospitalised. No hypocrisy it is what is.

If it was "nothing" he would have cut it.
The last 3 pounds are the toughest in any weight cut. Think trying to squeeze dried

Yoel won, ok, but it should not propel Yoel up the MW ladder since it was not a MW fight

Non-issue, he won the fight, he's getting a title shot and your tears will hydrate him further

You guys are haters.

It was not “nothing”. Missing weight is unprofessional no matter how you look at it.

Isn't it about the other fighter accepting the terms?

I think if the other guy consents to fight he has to accept the consequences (fighting an opponent who has an advantage by being heavier and/or less depleted)

The fact Yoel's missing weight cost him nothing but money shows the worthlessness of the interim title.

If they weighed ego and doucheyness, Luke was WAY heavier than Romero that night and every night. I think Romero might have knocked Luke's "inner sunglasses" right off his inner eyes. He may never wear sunglasses indoors again!

Jokes aside, no sympathy for Luke in general and that was a fun fight. And a KO is a way to let him know what's up. I felt smarter after watching it.

I always enjoy watching Luke get his ass kicked...he is always talking crap that he can't back up! YOU would think that he would wait till after the fight. That way maybe he would gain some credibility!

Everyone's got their way to get up for a fight. Some guys go on energetic verbal vendettas and get boners at weigh ins, some guys are calm and complimentary of their opponents, some guys try to get under their opponent's skin and some guys throw on the sunglasses, roll their short sleeves up, cock one eyebrow and put a perma-smirk on their faces as they speak all manner of wild shit that will shortly be disproved.

Styles make fights, I guess?

Oh stop it! Both fighters discussed their options...Luke agreed to fight because he thought he would win - plain and simple. Most of us old-timers knew he would NOT. Of course he did NOT. Luke cannot fight with his back to cage. Romero apparently watched enough tape to know this. Sure enough every confrontation with Luke's back to the cage - he lost. Once again his chin was hanging out and once again he went down. End of Story!!
