So after rewatching the fight, here's my analysis of the weakpoints that Conor had and needs to improve if he wants to be more wellrounded:
1. Hands up and better defense: this seems to be a SBG problem for Artem has the same issue. They lower their hands down dangerously and therefore eat too many shots unnecessarily. Same for Conor in his fight with Chad and Nate.
2. Kicks: Conor really doesn't have any serious kicks in his arsenal. Even his pushkick is weak. He needs to stop the taekwondo kicks and seriously master the Muay Thai kicks. There was a point where it seemed like Conor and Nate were competing for the worst kicks ever.
3. Confidence in grappling: I honestly think his grappling isn't that bad but after watching the fight a second time I think he really lacks confident in his grappling. For example, he had Nate I believe in the first round and he tried to work on him but u could see him not believing in his own grappling so he let him go. Maybe cause he only lost via grappling. Anyways, he needs to believe in his own grappling if he wants to stand a real chance.
4. Quit the movement nonsense: really... he can get away with a lot of movement fails when fighting small guys but he should be able to compete with people who also have ko-power. Even though Nate has one of the weakest hand power in the division. That movement nonsense only works because he can take the shots. But when u fight someone with more power in his shots u need to be more careful and ditch the moves that have 0 efficiency and only give away ur defense.
Overall, I believe Conor was nervous and because of that gassed out really fast. Everybody knows when u are nervous in ur fight u'll throw everything u got in every single shot.
Also, he wasn't able to get his distance and seemed a bit scared to fight close to Nate. Maybe cause he was expecting Nate to try get him on the ground and submit him. Too bad it turned out to be exactly that.
He gave away his defense, got rocked by Nate and got caught chocked.
U'r opinion...
