Conor's nutritionist, George Lockhart

Nutritionist is actually a job title for scammers.

A nutritionist is a non-accredited title that may apply to somebody who has done a short course in nutrition or who has given themselves this title. The term Nutritionist is not protected by law in almost all countries so people with different levels of and knowledge can call themselves a “Nutritionist”.

If you want some legit help then you should be hiring dietitian

A dietitian is a health professional who has university qualifications consisting of a 4-year Bachelor Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or a 3-year Science Degree followed by a Master Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, including a certain period of practical training in different hospital and community settings (in the U.S. 1200 hours of supervised practice are required in different areas). Some dietitians also further their knowledge and skills by pursuing various Specialist Dietetic qualifications. Dietitian is an expert in prescribing therapeutic nutrition.
Wow reKt everyone in this thread

Thank you.

This all day.

'Nutritionist' is a dirty word and is ruined by programmes that offer short courses in "nutritional coaching" (personal trainers often do it and act like the complete fitness package) - I feel sorry for those that do a 3/4 year degree in nutrition sciences and become a qualified nutritionist. They have to deal with fakes ruining their profession.

3/4 years plus a 2-year masters degree (with clinic hours) is the only respectable way. It's what I did and it makes me laugh seeing "specialists" like Dolce walking around claiming they are the top dog. Experience yes...qualifications no.

I do rate Lockhart though.

See the response before - nutritional adjustments are quantifiable and predictable, while the irrational shit is not. Same nutritional approach will yield same results for the same person under same circumstances leading up to an event. Bogus shit is retroactively fitted - after the fact. A lucky coin is lucky after the fact, not leading up to the fact.
*scrolls up to where Darth_Inv1ctu5 claims that chiropractors deliver quantifiable results*

um no.

um no.

If I use personal experience with chiros that won't matter either, I guess? Quantifiable result is me not having a pain in my neck 5 minutes after a chiro realigned my cervical vertebrae. You can dislike it all day long, they can help and they do help - in quantifiable ways, simple as that my man...

They might not cure every skeletal issue one could possibly suffer but they have their niche in which they can be effective. I don't know what is so difficult to grasp here?

um yeah but placebo also carries anecdotal positive evidence. Pretty much everything does including idiocy like cupping. That's why science uses blinding, controls and the like.

On UFC 202 Embedded, Episode 1, Conor's nutritionist says this...

"Right now, we'll probably cut back on the carbs a little bit..it's not that he's cutting weight, but actually carb loading...it kinda tricks the body into being more efficient with the glycogen storages...so, give him a high fat diet, make sure that he's feeling good this last week."

Huh? Cutting back on carbs, but actually carb loading?!?
...if I had a dime for every time I heard, "it tricks the body"

Barbecue honey chicken with slices of avocado...sounds like Conor is doing a shit load of cardio, but trying to maintain his 170 weight. George tells Conor he's glad he's hungry again. I wonder how often he's eating?

You gotta trick the body, brah. When you lift, you have to change it up in the weight room. Then your body gets tricked and is like "WTF BRAH YOU TRICKED ME," and is forced to grow. Because according to science, tricking things makes them grow.

..it kinda tricks the body into being more efficient with the glycogen storages.
so if he loses conor can blame his body, my body was tricked in to being not efficient with carbs.

Yes but there is too much repeatability in what chiros do to attribute all results to placebo. This isn't homeopathic medicine.

Peoples obsession with higher education for a subject which just requires common sense and on the job training is why a lot of jobs are cut off to people in this day and age.

LEL.

Hats off to the guy. He's definitely got the most out of himself and has done really well. "Dolce Coach" - I could imagine a bunch of fat nerds going to the seminar in vegas walking out thinking they are qualified to take on the world.

No different to a person working for weight watchers.

Stop trying to justify yourself Dolce.

Stop trying to justify yourself Dolce.

Because I don't think dietician or nutritionist isn't a super high skill level job that couldn't be done by just about anyone with a working brain and workplace training means I am a dolce alt lel.

Everything Conor does is wrong, according to forums.

Boxing = terrible
BJJ = non existent
TDD = none
Kicking = just for show
Style = stolen
Tattoos = awful
Upbringing = privileged
UFC run = protected
PPV buys = unimpressive
Coach = Edmund
SBG = overrated
Nutritionist = unnecessary
Dee = gold digger
Pre-Diaz = handpicked
Post-Diaz = ducking, somehow...

It's 'dietitian'.

Secondly, I think you are confused about what a dietitian is. Is a hell of a lot more than just eat this and not that. You go to university and learn a number of other units (physiology, human biology, organic chemistry). A number of dietitians go into research (myself included) and carry more knowledge in their little finger than nutritionists.

He means he'll go heavier on carbs during fight week. Anyway, I thought carb loading was just on workout days. He's on a ketogenic diet 1 week and carb loading the next week? I don't know i'm a beginner to nutrition as I started eating clean last November, but these guys are in great shape so whatever.

And you couldn't learn those while working in the field at all? You cannot learn those subjects to a high level without going to university?
That is all I mean I don't see how every field is so advanced you have to go to university to learn it. It isn't that it isn't high skill but it isn't unthinkable you cannot learn the major things on the job.
Research however would require better trained individuals and would need more than learning the main concepts and filling in the details with skill development.

Right now Lockhart seems to be the guy in terms of nutrition for fighters. Hard to doubt what he says at this point
