"Conor would have won if he didn't gass" - ConorNutHuggers

If this was a street fight with no rest breaks Nate was done. He was whipped in the first and was on hes back in the first been pounded on. The bell gave him a chance to come back in the second when Conor gassed.

Right, if this was a street fight, nate with his great bjj would have swept Conor or submitted his ass.

But is it possible that Mcgregor didn't actually gas out and just pretended to justify his loss and being not as good enough on his feet to beat Diaz? It might be also because he fought at 170, its over 20 pounds more than when he fights normally. Honestly, i can see Mcgregor winning the rematch just if he gets lucky and knocks Diaz out in early rounds but when the fight goes on, Diaz has better chance to win it.
Conor's conditioning coach said he fought at the same weight he always fights at within a pound or two.

Maybe, but Diaz was in distress more then Conor was towards the end of the first. Conor was landing shots it could have been all over if he had 30 seconds. Hes very dominant when hes in that position.

This really needed another thread.

If it was a street fight Nate wouldn't have been pacing himself for a five round fight in which he had no training camp for, he would have turned it up from the beginning instead of taking the first round off. Most likely would have finished Conor much quicker, but round 1 was basically his training camp and round two was when the fight began for him.

Conor didnt land a single punch while he was on top of Diaz. Go watch it again.

He would have done great if he had won the fight, it's the truth.

One of the worst excuses to use, just imagine if Rumble could keep the same pace for the entire fight against anyone, dude would be undefeated with a huge list of KO´s (even bigger list i guess), Cardio while not a skill itself, plays a big role in how their other skills do, worst excuse ever, but i guess thats is why its called a excuse.

Nate likes taking shots to the face? There was know pacing by Nate he could not deal with a Conor who had bags of energy. When he tried he got hit.

None of them have ever been in a fight if they think it was solely down to a lack of cardio.

Idiots.

Conor gassed because he was getting nailed. It takes a lot out of you when you get rocked more than once.

I never said he "likes" taking shots to the face, but he was definitely able to deal with them without turning into a panic wrestler, unlike Conor.

Yes we all know Conor landed some punches, it doesn't change the fact that he landed less strikes, got wobbled on the feet, went for a panic takedown, and tapped faster than James Devine (I had to look up something clever here).

Conor walked away from that fight and was medically cleared. Diaz took more damage and was not. There is no such thing as a healthy punch, they all hurt, it just a matter of taking the pain during the fight.

Conor took hes time with Diaz it could have been worse for Diaz. Conor was overloading and missing if those shots kept connecting hes going to fall down eventually out of exhaustion or pain.

Conor was wobbled because he was off balance he was loading up a shot when Nate connected, so it looked worse then it was. He was hurt, but you can even see after Conor fighting back and he looked more gassed then hurt to me.

I don't understand how gassing that fast can be used as an excuse. Conor had a full training camp and no weight cut. Gassing under those circumstances isn't an excuse. It's an embarrassment.

imo he wasn't gassed because of his conditioning. in fact his conditioning was probably the best its ever been. its pretty obvious that cesar gracie's team secretly lobbied the nsac to use hydraulics to raise the octagon 30,000 feet and conor simply wasn't used to that altitude. luckily everyone sees through the sham and knows the conor is still the goat and p4p #1

Conor fans on Mendes fight - "Two weeks is plenty of time for a professional fighter to get in good enough shape to not gass out in 2 rounds. Saying he was winning till he gassed is just an excuse. No need for a rematch it would go the same"

Conor fans on Nate fight - "Conor didn't have enough time to prepare and he gassed out. Conor was winning before he gassed out, Nate got lucky. Rematch would be completely different"

It is just amazing that Conor fans say Conor wasn't prepared enough when he had a full camp and Nate was the one coming in on 10 days notice with basically no camp.

This.

Conor lost because he came in with a terrible game plan. You don't go toe to toe with a Diaz and expect to win. If he uses a more elusive couter striking game plan he could win the second fight. I'd still favor Diaz though.
