Sure he would have won if he kept the same pace for four more rounds, but that is not possible. The only reason Conor had success against Diaz in the first round is because he was going 100% and not conserving his energy.
If Conor would have conserved his energy, Diaz would have been landing a lot more shots and Conor would not have looked so dominant in the first round.
Take this analogy, if two people are running a mile, and one is going at a steady pace and the other is sprinting 100%, the one sprinting would have completed the first lap and a half before the guy going at his own pace. But after the first lap and a half, the man who sprinted is already gassed and has to walk for a couple of minutes to recover, while the other guy, who is going at his own pace, eventually surpasses him and wins the race. The same thing happened with Conor, he sprinted the first round, using all of his energy, but gassed out and got destroyed in the second half of the second round.
If the rematch happens again, and Conor conserves his energy, I see Diaz pushing the pace a lot more and backing Conor up. Conor will then gas out again and get TKO'D or submitted in the fourth. Conor Simply does not have the cardio to compete with Diaz in a 5 round fight. The only way I see Conor winning this fight is if the fight becomes a 3 round fight, or he gets an early TKO.
