Sure he would have won if he kept the same pace for four more rounds, but that is not possible. The only reason Conor had success against Diaz in the first round is because he was going 100% and not conserving his energy.

If Conor would have conserved his energy, Diaz would have been landing a lot more shots and Conor would not have looked so dominant in the first round.

Take this analogy, if two people are running a mile, and one is going at a steady pace and the other is sprinting 100%, the one sprinting would have completed the first lap and a half before the guy going at his own pace. But after the first lap and a half, the man who sprinted is already gassed and has to walk for a couple of minutes to recover, while the other guy, who is going at his own pace, eventually surpasses him and wins the race. The same thing happened with Conor, he sprinted the first round, using all of his energy, but gassed out and got destroyed in the second half of the second round.

If the rematch happens again, and Conor conserves his energy, I see Diaz pushing the pace a lot more and backing Conor up. Conor will then gas out again and get TKO'D or submitted in the fourth. Conor Simply does not have the cardio to compete with Diaz in a 5 round fight. The only way I see Conor winning this fight is if the fight becomes a 3 round fight, or he gets an early TKO.

Conor was winning one round in a five round fight. Yeah, until he lost in the second.

He wouldn't have gassed out if he didn't try to knock out Nate. Well, what else was he going to do? Out wrestle him?

His power and chin didn't translate to 170 against a flabby 155'er? Well... Yeah, that's true.

I dont see why his nuthuggers insist on that excuse like it would help him save face. How come gassing that fast, after a full camp and no draining water weightcut can make you look better than being clocked hard by a guy know for his pace and boxing?

Conor fans on Mendes fight - "Two weeks is plenty of time for a professional fighter to get in good enough shape to not gass out in 2 rounds. Saying he was winning till he gassed is just an excuse. No need for a rematch it would go the same"

Conor fans on Nate fight - "Conor didn't have enough time to prepare and he gassed out. Conor was winning before he gassed out, Nate got lucky. Rematch would be completely different"

It is just amazing that Conor fans say Conor wasn't prepared enough when he had a full camp and Nate was the one coming in on 10 days notice with basically no camp.

But is it possible that Mcgregor didn't actually gas out and just pretended to justify his loss and being not as good enough on his feet to beat Diaz? It might be also because he fought at 170, its over 20 pounds more than when he fights normally. Honestly, i can see Mcgregor winning the rematch just if he gets lucky and knocks Diaz out in early rounds but when the fight goes on, Diaz has better chance to win it.

Neo Nate fans are far worse.

Whats he going to do in a rematch - get a bigger tank and run around or throw less punches

Both favor nate

Do you think Conor really walks into the ring at 145 after looking like a holocaust survivor at the weigh-ins? I think he's probably walking in to the ring somewhere in the 160's, he fought at probably 5-10 pounds at the most heavier than he is used to and he didn't have the stress of having to cut weight.

Hahaha because Connor is cardio machine. His style is more overwhelming and overpowering guys.

Nate is known for his conditioning and diet. No way he can win that battle against a Diaz.

Even if he comes in conservative and in better shape. That's whAt Diaz wants to start picking him apart from range.. Once Nate gets going we know he won't stop.

Long night for Connor again. Actually him getting inside range and trying to finish him is the best way for him to win.

And we all saw how it ended. Just styles man because Connor is a good fighter too but the way they match up.

The thing about the weight is that Conor Didn't fight 20 pounds more than he normally does, his walk in weight is anywhere from 160-170. He just didn't have to cut weight for this fight, which in return would actually improve his cardio, not decrease it.

Actually it wasn't Conor fans who said he gassed first it was Conor who said he ran out of energy. I had to watch the fight a second time to notice it.

When i watched it live i felt he was sloppy with hes defense and was showboating. After watching a second time he starts to fatigue about 3 minutes 10 seconds into the second round. He was not hurt by the left till a minute and half later i think.

Conor didn't put in the work required to compete for 5 rounds. Conor decided to burn up what he had in hopes of ending the fight early. Diaz on the other hand had the better strategy to deal with the lack of conditioning. A lack of experience is why Conor lost.

Conor sheep and logic generally don't agree well with each other.

Conor didn't look gassed until he got his bell rung by Nate toward the end of the first. So in other words he didn't gas out at all but the body doesn't respond the same after you take a fastball after all of the change ups from a Diaz. I'm glad Conor is making excuses, it means he'll likely be done in the first round against a fight conditioned, Conor ready Diaz.

Also a knee to the tiger face.

You guys are having a conversation with yourselves and just putting what you imagine other people would say in quotations..this is kind of sad.

If this was a street fight with no rest breaks Nate was done. He was whipped in the first and was on hes back in the first been pounded on. The bell gave him a chance to come back in the second when Conor gassed.

Yeah true. Fighting the taller man means you must get inside. No other way around it. Some goes with clinching a taller guy, bad idea unless your a better grappler.

But then you can let Nate get his range and his space because that's where he fights best.

We will see a more agile Connor but that might cost him points while Nate keeps coming forward.

Difficult match up

Stop speaking truth. Some people can't handle it.
