We know Khabib vs Conor is a massive payday and can open the market for Russia, but Tony rightfully deserves to fight Conor based on being the Interim Champion.

If you were in the UFC's position, which fight would you make?

Maybe "contractually" if Connor is stripped he becomes a free agent... Something the UFC will not abide by.... He brings too much coin.

If you like fighting, it's a fascinating match up, McGregor's fans will be buy regardless, and if you hate McGregor, there's a possibility you'll see him get his arse kicked. Stop it. This is not a real question. Tony is the interim champ, an interim championship they made so Conor could keep the belt and sit out for over a year and not defend the belt. He needs to unify the belt, then Khabib gets the winner.

The problem here is Khabibs track record of pulling and/or missing weight.

I could see them making McGregor vs Khabib, in Russia, and then Khabib pulling and it ending up as Tony vs Conor.

Both the UFC and McGregor will be nervous because the amount of money pumped into the promotion budget will be squandered if Khabib doesn’t show up.

That said, if McGregor hasn’t ironed out whatever is stalling his end by mid-January, I’d strip him and set up Tony vs Khabib as soon as is humanly possible.

You don't understand how this works. McGregor is a bigger star than ever. And nobody expected him to win that fight with Mayweather, so it was no surprise that he got stopped by the best boxer of his generation when he had never fought a pro boxing bout in his life.
