But that wouldn't be fair to Tony. I don't think RDA gives a crap about there being an interim title, because it doesn't really mean anything. Khabib would be the biggest reward fight right now for Conor, and other fights are just lose/lose situations for him. If Conor beats Khabib, that would almost mean more than beating RDA and nobody would doubt him again. But then against ufc on fox 19 would go to sht

do you not understand their camp does not want khabib?
you don't know anything. It's more likely ufc not wanting to put the fight together because that would mess up an event. Plus they would have to fight eventually if they keep winning anyway

According to rumors and speculation and denied by Dana.

Man, you're just all over the Conor ducking Khabib kick huh? Must suck having little things like this just eating you up inside hey Princess?

do you seriously buy this excuse? they can find many replacements for that main event

He did not deserve a shot at 155 to begin with, why tie up the class further with a meritless title ?.

However Khabib is the one that he should be fighting.

i do believe he can beat khabib but it shouldn't be argued than he clearly doesn't want to fight him. the opportunity is right now, khabib is the #1 ranked guy behind RDA. but for some reason 18-10 nate diaz was conors first choice

Conor has done nothing at lightweight, so no. They shouldn't make this fight.

exactly, the title would mean nothing, but if he beat khabib he would absolutely deserve the title shot then. I dont know what yall are arguing against

The hell do you mean it shouldn't be argued? What evidence do you or anyone have to suggest otherwise?

Not fucking one of us has any idea what conversations are taking place right now. It's all just hearsay and rumors.

Before I even logged in to Sherdog today I absolutely KNEW there would be Khabib ducking threads if he didn't immediately get the fight. And lo' and behold ... here you guys are.

WHY WOULD THE UFC PUT THIS FIGHT TOGETHER? HOW DOES IT MAKE SENSE?

Either 1) Khabib is a shell of himself from two knee surgeries or has tons of ring rust and loses to Conor in a vicious, very quick KO that prevents the UFC from hyping Khabib as the second coming of Fedor (what they were planning on doing on Fox) or 2) Khabib is at least 90% of himself and takes Conor down repetitively on route to an easy 25 minute decision, and Conor's hype disappears as well as his cash cow title shot.

Who the FUCK wants either of those things?

Not to mention Khabib's two year layoff and odd style makes him not very casual fan friendly, whereas the other options (Faber, Diaz, Pettis, Cowboy) are all INCREDIBLY popular options, three of which will stand with Conor and put on a spectacular striking show.

Plus you are asking the UFC to remove a MAIN EVENT FIGHT FROM FOX in Khabib vs Ferguson. What are they going to replace it with??

Anyway you slice it, putting this fight together is fucking dumb and the people who want to see this fight are dumber.

I agree that he should fight Khabib, and it should be used as a contender fight, but an interim title is unwarranted.

Khabib does not deserve anything regarding title shot. Maybe after one win or if he finally doesn't pull out of his fight

Who is it that you would like him to fight and do you believe there should be an interim title at stake ?.

No Interim title BS please. This fight can be awesome even if it's not unfairly tied to a paper belt. RDA is the champion and will be ready to fight again in a couple of months. He just fought in december ffs.

What does an interim title take away from RDA? Nothing, it doesn't really matter. It will just hype up RDA's next fight more against the winner

....Khabib is the absolute WORST matchup for McGoat...Other worldly wrestling and has unconventional striking with above average power..He is undefeated for a reason and would UD Conor 9 out of 10 times
