... watching the haters panic is hilarious.

They know that when Conor beats a full camp Nate, their McGregor-getting-choked-out gifs and "haha Conor lost to Nate on 10 days notice" will no longer fly.

Funny because it just demonstrates their cognitive dissonance. If they truly believed Nate is the better fighter, then this would be the best fight possible for anyone who dislikes Conor. He's going to get his ass whooped, right? Nate will have full camp this time.

Only, even the haters know it's not going to be like that. So what they do is grasp at any and all available straws to bitch about the fight. They know Nate's win was a fluke, they don't want a rematch, it'll completely ruin their touch-butt narrative. But it's funny watching people try to disguise their panic as some sort of moral outrage because UFC makes a big money rematch fight in a prize-fighting sport. We all know the haters would be all over this fight if they thought Conor was about to get his ass whooped.

The tears are delicious.

I know, right. I'm a huge Connor MacGregor fan. This fight is def affirmative action. Nick Diaz doesn't stand a chance.

OP @ this very moment.

What if you don't dislike Conor and objectively think this is a pointless wasteful matchup for a huge card like 200? I like both fighters but Conor has nothing for Nate. It's MMA and anything can happen but he is outclassed standing, in the clinch, on the mat, in terms of cardio, and Nate has the psychological edge now too, and is the bigger fighter. It's going to take more than a few months to make strides where McGregor would need to (effective low kicks to negate Nate's heavy lead leg stance, HUGE gap in grappling ability) in order to make a rematch competitive.

He was winning the first seven minutes. The last two minutes of that were his most dominant in the fight. He easily swept Nate in the first round. Gassing is no excuse for losing, but to say that he was outclassed everywhere and has "nothing for Nate" is either dishonest or clueless.

Losing how? Because of a little blood? Diaz brothers have so much scar tissue at this point they bleed if the wind picks up but it doesn't mean they're hurt. Look at the striking statistics, and he never hurt Nate. If anything the first round proved Conors trump card, the straight left, could be taken by Nate to no effect. Yet he was obviously broken when Nate hit him with that left straight in rd. 2. Then he went for the desperation takedown and it was over. Even if you grant him the first round for argument's sake, winning a round don't mean shit when you end up tapping out anyway, it's not complicated. He got exposed, he should worry about tightening up his ground game before any rematch let alone jumping into title shots of heavier divisions.

The striking statistics confirm that he was winning. He did hurt Nate. Winning a round "does mean shit" when you claim he was completely outclassed. Completely outclassed fighters don't win 80% of the fight.

No someone posted the rd 1 striking stats on here just earlier tonight and they both landed around 25-30 strikes at 37% for round one. And again landing a strike isn't the same as hurting someone. You could see Conor buckle and back down when Nate hit him rd. 2 - never happened the other way around. Did Nate shoot for s desperate TD? Remind me, who tapped out again? Who took the fight on ten days notice? Just admit your boy lost, he can come back better but it's stupid to do it after a few months without addressing the gaping holes exposed in his game at that level.

Conor hit more strikes in round 1. No one said landing a strike is the same as hurting someone, but he hurt Nate and you can't prove otherwise. Conor tapped, so what? Nate and Conor both took that fight on ten days notice. You're getting desperate, I see, trying to change the argument from "outclassed everywhere" to "who tapped out? Who took the fight on ten days notice?"

Again, common sense: fighters who are completely outclassed don't win 7 minutes out of a 9 minute fight.

conor doesn't deserve to fight nate. he's been exposed as having no heart or groundgame. he should seriously stay at 145 and cement his legacy there as the midget slayer.

Nate was bleeding, never hurt or rocked. Conor was literally rocked and backing up before he shot for that desperate TD (which you love to ignore) which any fighter will tell you is a surefire sign they're overwhelmed on the feet, especially coming from a striker who almost never shoots like McGregor. Nate won the stand up, deal with it.

don't even get me started on the ground, or the cardio (which is why the ten days matters - not that he needs an excuse cause he won and all).

You're more desperate than your hero shooting for that takedown.

Conor took that fight on a full camp. Nate didn't have one. If you can't see the difference, I don't know what to say.
He won 7 minutes of a 25 minute fight, then gassed out badly, got tooled on the feet, panicked and got absolutely dominated on the ground.
There is no way to spin this to favour Conor other than 'he looked good for a round against a guy that didn't even hit pads, until he found his range'. BJ Penn was way more impressive against Nick Diaz for a round, but that's not what we remember.

Oh and you want to talk about panic?! Conor LITERALLY ADMITTED, and I quote, "I went into panic mode." Even he admits he was beat - why can't you? Like I said this thread is more desperate than Conor's takedown attempt at the end of that fight which you love to ignore (shows Nate was kicking his ass on the feet, nullifying your argument).

Done. Next.

Nate was bleeding and hurt. As for your other observations about Conor being rocked and desperate TDs, etc, I'm not going to respond to them anymore after this. They have nothing to do with your original argument. A fighter being caught/rocked/subbed doesn't mean they have "nothing" for the one who beat them. It doesn't mean they were "outclassed." Otherwise no one would ever win rematches.

It's nice to see you can't even argue your original point anymore, I'll take that as admission of defeat.
