Conor is not that much better than the average LW. Believe that. If you don't, show me the evidence that he is. He beat Eddie Alvarez (who was 3-1 in the UFC). Other people have beaten Eddie Alvarez. That is Conor's LW record.

In FW, he beat Aldo (his greatest victory), but Matt Serra also beat GSP. So, that was one fight on one night, and he was victorious. There was no rematch, so we don't know. The belts don't change the record.

The first Nate Diaz fight showed us Conor's real level. Dude was finished by a short-notice opponent. Finished. It wasn't a war or battle for survival. It was one guy unloading his wad, getting tired, and getting choked out.

Who are all these LWs (with 5 or more fights in the division) that Conor has beaten for him to have such high esteem in the division? Name at least 3.

If you can't even name 3 LW fighters, then what is his ranking based on?

Nope. Can you read and understand what you are reading or are you one of those "So, what you are saying is [insert something ridiculously irrelevant]" people? LOL

But let me indulge your ignorance. The Realtor was 8-2 in the UFC on a 5-0 streak. The Realtor's win streak in the UFC was longer than Eddie Alvarez' entire UFC fights record (at the time Conor beat Eddie).

Take away the name Conor McGregor, and just think about it in terms of Fighter X, and tell me that there is a huge discrepancy here. This is just based on logic.

Fighter X beat Fighter Y whose entire record in the promotion was 4 fights, while Fighter Z has a recent 5-0 winning streak with an overall 8-3 record. I mean, to me it is so clear that Fighter X is running on unproven hype and not real gas (pun intended). LOL
 
As a fighter he's overrated , but you can't deny he's a genius at self promotion.

Conor is in my opinion a case of a person devoping a massive ego when he made a massive amount of money ( 100' 000'000 for the Mayweather bullshit circus tour and glorified gimmie fight ) , he has come to the point where he has transcended MMA to being a international star , sadly he isn't handling his new found mega wealth very well, but he has made a huge amount of money for UFC and Dana , Conor's next fight will no doubt be watched by all , which even the most fans that hate MacGregor will buy ppv to watch.

And that is why UFC is becoming a circus act , not because of Conor , because the fans themselves , if you want the legitmacy of MMA to return , stop buying PPV featuring The ducking asshole.

People are not responding to the facts because they are undeniable. You have a 1-0 champion, and he is 1-0 for beating a 3-1 fighter, and you seriously believe that he is a legitimate champion. How ridiculous is it to be a 1-0 and a champion, and be considered legitimate by a vast majority of the fan-base? You won't see this type of silliness in any other sport.

This is not even really about McGregor, he just happens to be the perfect example. I just want to know, on an intellectual level, how can any reasonable spectator of a sport make the argument that a 1-0 champion is the best fighter in a division with fighters who have better and longer records?

I am talking about fighting. When I am talking about promotion and fighter-pay, I am 100% in support for Conor McGregor (except for the jumping inside the cage and bus stunt, I can't support stupidity).

I am just talking from a fighting context. I really want to understand why some MMA fans are comfortable with the idea of a 1-0 champion being the best in a division that has never been dominated and has fighters with longer and better records? It makes no sense to me.

Conor was finished by a bigger fighter who he dominated up until he gassed himself. So far the only thing to actually beat Conor in the UFC has been his own cardio shortcomings.
