Conor McGregor is here training in Iceland for his upcoming fight against Diego Brandao. In this interview he talks about the change in opponents, training in Iceland with Gunnar Nelson and the Competition Team in Mj

Considering he's been out for nearly a year and he's not scheduled to fight till 19th July, he's in very good shape.

Connor wants more bodies!

someone should caption that

Terribly upset Cole can't take this guy out himself; love that guy.

However, the tears that fall when McG hopefully loses to a lesser name will taste almost as sweet.

I could see Cole upsetting Connor, but unfortunately he pulled out. Diego likely won't win Connor. :( I guess his hype will go overcharged after this event again.

I hope not. What kills me about Cole is that this was his biggest opportunity yet, his chance at headlining an event with (and this pains me to say) a bigger name than he was ever going to get at this point in his career.

And now it's all gone. He'll probably never get this gift ever again, and he will never know what would have happened with his career. These are the situations where I can totally understand fighters fighting through injuries that would usually sideline them.

Jose Aldo Nova
I agree with you fully. I guess Miller injury is pretty bad for him to pull out.

IMO, McGregor is the FW version of Bisping, currently, huge name for the division and pretty talented but not really championship/contender level. I might get alot of shit for saying this, but I'm just throwing it out there.

That's actually a great analogy. And with that theory, unfortunately, he should take this next fight handily. Oh well :/

Yep, this was his one and only chance at headlining an event, and against a guy who may have a weakness in Cole's best area. It was his biggest opportunity and he let it pass for a thumb injury.

For all of McGregor's trash-talk, you have to admit he has been right about a lot of things. He said that Cole doesn't have any ambition...he's a jobber or a part-timer. 18 fights in the UFC and had never called out a champ or shown any interest in reaching the top. Most of Cole's tweets are about bicycles and cycling, I don't think he is even that passionate about MMA.

Yeah ... I can't really disagree with you there; Cole doesn't appear to have the outward ambition or drive to make waves. And yes, he loves to ride his bicycle. :)

That all being said, he's still one of my personal favorites - his jits is wonderful, and he's given us some of the greatest sub victories in the UFC.

Yeah, he should win Diego easily. Better striker. I don't remember seeing Diego actively trying TD in his previous fights and I believe with his stance, Conor should be able to defend any possible TD easily. That's why I said, his Hype will be over the roof again after this event.

And it would have been very interesting to see how things went if he got the fight to the ground. He has a tricky ground game and I think he genuinely could have troubled McGregor.

"I want you to tank me... Tank me for the opportunity" - Connor

Might I suggest a grappkling training partner...
