Media Conor McGregor puts his grip strength to the test

i don’t prefer massive hulking women, no, but the bigger problem is her face.
You probably think some WMMA girls in the UFC are more attractive but they're not. Not one of them are on her level.

Too bad MMA is more than strongly shaking hands.

what a noob, he cant hang out with us proper sherdoggers, I tested 147 lbs on a digital grip strength measurer
Beat me by 1, I had 146 then tried again and hit....146 again. The guy that brought it to the gym hit 171....then proceeded to tell everyone that is the most accurate tell of overall fitness, testosterone, strength etc etc...I was like fuck off lol.

honestly I expected to get a better score, being a properly sized sherdogger who has been training in a gi for quite a while

That seems off to me.

I know everyone likes to pile on Conor, but I'd expect anyone who's been training wrestling, BJJ, and probably some Judo for a decade to have a damned powerful grip.

I'm pretty skeptical that he's putting up a pedestrian number comparable to a reasonably strong woman.

Edit: I'm wrong. That's not a "pedestrian" number and it seems the gap between men and women in grip strength is not as pronounced as in other kind of strength tests.

I don’t think that’s accurate honestly
The one at my wife's physical therapist is accurate and she put up 100lbs with her off hand (she broke her strong hand wrist a few weeks back).

I want to try it the next time she goes to therapy now lol.

There's different kinds of grip strengths though. Crush, support and pinch.

What's displayed in the videos is crushing strength which if you don't train it you necessarily isn't going to be great at.

In grappling you'd utilize more of a support grip or pinch grip. You don't really crush your grip closed in a dynamic fashion.

I got that. I thought it was low since that number works out to 123 lbs.

However, I just looked into that device and 58 kilos puts him in range of competitive gymnasts.
