What can Conor do to keep Khabib off him for long stretches? How should he set up his attacks? What should his approach be in the clinch and off his back?
What are his overall chances of having success your opinion?

Play the reach game and avoid grappling at all costs. Basically he needs a safe game plan, no kicks either

He needs to do more of that turning his back and running stuff he did during the nate rematch

I believe the teenagers these days refer to it as “resetting”

If he keeps “resetting” from the opening bell he has a good chance to tire out Khabib and get him to overextend on his chasing jab, which will open up the left hand counter.

Footwork. Lots of circling and he has to make Khabib pay early and dearly for over extending

First, use your font kick as a jab, when the opponent gets within kicking range switch to the jab. As he moves he needs to keep his centerline off of Khabibs center. Keep his back of the cage. Also in this fight, I hope Conor doesnt try and show boat. I see it back firing big time.

Control the center. If he does that, he'll be fine!

Circling and back peddling - his spin kicks cant be used so that takes a tool out

So he has to wait and catch him shooting in with a kick or a left hand or tire him out with range while going backwards

Don't be a still target. Stay away from the cage. Make Khabib come to him. Maintain range. Keep the fight in the center of the cage

Avoid the cage at all costs and tag Khabib with counters as he tries to come forward. Circle away and frustrate Khabib for the first round or two and then look to set up a strong counter to end the fight

Go for the power double early in the first. Catch Khabib off guard.

Stay long and maintain your distance. Every little mistake he makes you must make him pay. And he will. Pretty much nobody better in the game at doing that. Watch his fight with Eddie. Any little tiny mistake Eddie made on the feet and he got cracked.

Disagree he must kick to give him something else to think about. He can’t just play the hands game. Connor also has excellent kicks. And he is good at getting that leg back very quickly without anyone grabbing it. I think he will kick quite a bit in fact. He is a very versatile striker.

Distance control, speed and footwork. McGregor is used fighting fws more than lws, and fws are faster than lws. Alvarez even said that what was surprising wasn't his power but his speed and didn't even register what hit him most of the time. That said if Khabib has an ungodly chin and keeps coming a la Diaz it's gonna be a long night Joe!
