But we will never know because unlike Junior Dos Santos vs. Cain there was never a rematch to see whether or not it was a fluke win. Props to JDS for manning up and defending his belt even though he would proceed to get destroyed, twice.

Well Aldo keeps getting knocked out so maybe not

What is suspicious to me is Barao and Aldo just fell off at the same time which has to raise the eye to Post USADA. I mean Barao went from being in the talks of pfp best to a punching bag

Jose Aldo - 9 title defenses

Conor McGregor - 0 title defenses

Unfortunately, unlike the first JDS vs. Cain fight where both guys were in their primes, Aldo is also in the twilight of his career. I'm sure he can still pretty much beat every other 145er out there, and maybe even most guys at 155, but he's definitely not where he used to be, physically. I also don't think a prime Aldo would've been getting into a war with Mendes and trying to bum rush Conor like a dumbass.

If Holloway can knock him out twice then McGregor could to.

Yes because Aldo is a Division 1 wrestler who didn’t wrestle

Considering how well Conor lands power punches and how subsequent fights went for Aldo, Conor would very likely knock Aldo out again.

I know, Conor would have KOed him again within the 1st round. Hope that puts your mind at rest TS.

I hate when people use this analogy. Cain is a wrestler who stood and traded with a striker instead of mixing things up. He rightfully got knocked out for it, and rightfully corrected his mistake in the rematches by mixing things up like he was supposed to.

Aldo is a striker who got outstruck by a better striker. He wasn't supposed to go in there and takedown Conor or whatever and didn't do so, he was supposed to go in there and try and strike with him like he always does. It didn't work out, and if they rematched he'd still go in there trying to strike.

The two are nothing alike.

Yeah maybe if he didn't have history of outclassing every fighter he's ever faced on the feet.

Welp, Aldo was offered another shot when RDA dropped out, but he refused to take it, even though he claimed a month before that he was in training in case RDA dropped out so he could take the fight.
