Conor is the only logical choice for fighter of the year !!

Dude in many people's eye went 1-2 and had one of the most weak hearted, panic wrestlin', air-tapping losses of a time.

"In everyones eyes Bisping lost to Hendo and Anderson and was 1-2"

"In most peoples eyes, Stip beat no one in their prime but Werdum"

See what happens when you let hate blind you and go off non sense

Conor HATER

Btw, lets be clear, there WAS NO controversey what so ever about Conor's win over Nate

Every media outlet had Conor winning EASY 3-2 (shouldve been 4-1 as Conor won the 5th)

OyJonFe.jpg

In only the deluded eyes of haters and newbs did Conor not beat Nate

Conor in fact OUT CLASSED Nate

UltimateMessyFugu-size_restricted.gif

Lasyly,

Nate saying "but if i have a full camp he wont touch me" WAS THE MOST humblie pie eating, ironic, most embaressing ass whopping of 2016..

Also Nate becoming a panic wrestler against Conor and trying to squeak out a win via a last second takedown after spending so many years talking shit about that

Conor got everything back and so much more and embaressed Nate

"Im I have a full camp he wont touch me"

LMAO

"wrestlers who try to squeek out wins via TDs are pussies" *tries to squeek out win over Conor with last second TD...LMAO BACKFIRE..IRONY...OWNED

Conor was undisputed fighter of the year for all the reasons already stated. No one has yet to debunk anything

Lawlor was 2-1 when he won fighter of the year and didnt accomplish half of what Conor did

how dare you say something logical and sensible on sherdog. Don't you know that once a fighter becomes popular they are automatically disqualified from any in-cage accolades. Take your logical thinking someplace else.
Haha thank you my brother

If your basis is moving up and fighting larger opponents it has to be Cerrone. 4-0 in a weight class above his usual one, against fighters who actually fight at said larger weight class. 4 finishes, 3 of which were (T)KO's over guys who had never been stopped by head strikes before.
Now people are just name dropping anyone

LOL pathetic

As if a huge Cerrone beating mid-tier guys at 170 somehow is better then Conor beating CHAMPIONS, OR out classing the guy who smashed Cerrone

Did Cerrone even win a top 5 fight at 170, let alone win the belt at a higher weight class like Conor did

The absolute delusion of Conor haters

In their minds, winning top 10 fights at a higher weight class>>>>>winning the BELT AT A HIGHER WEIGHT CLASS

Insane

Also, Conor isn't even the biggest star in mma history, let alone combat sports history lol

This has to be a troll job. Are you trolling me, or are you genuinely this stupid

Go check the numbers my slow little friend

Conor holds 3 of the 5 highest selling PPVs of all time

Conor HOLDS the record for highest selling PPV of all time

Conor holds all the gate records you can think of

Second place isnt even a close second place to Conor

Conor IS FAR AND AWAY the greatest star MMA has ever seen

Conor averages 600k more PPV buys then Ronda...let that sink in

Conor averages more buys then Floyd.. and thats ALL via Conor himself...where as Floyd needed other big names just to sell.

Next time educate yourself before spewing ignorance

Conor accepted Nate on short notice, when he didnt have to, and with everything to lose

Conor DOMINATED Nate for 7 minutes of an 8 minute fight...Conor gassed and then lost...

There was drama. It was an exciting fight.

Conor demanded a rematch and went right back in there at the same weight

He let Nate continue to stay comfortable at 170.

Conor with zero weight cut, again could only weigh 168lbs

Meanwhile Nate was around 200lbs

Also, remember all the talks of "bu but full camp Nate"

Nate: "If I have a full camp Conor wont touch me"

nate_diaz.jpg

Beating full camp Nate>>>>>>the 1st short notice fight

Conor over came the biggest size disadvantage we have ever seen at the lower weights in MMA body percentage wise

With his pure skill and IQ Conor BEAT out 25lbs, 4 inches of height, and 2 inches of reach (Conor is the real proven P4P#1)

Conor with that win, AVENGED the only loss of his UFC career via OUT CLASSING Nate

UltimateMessyFugu-size_restricted.gif

People love to see over-coming adversity, and Conor over came his biggest adversity with an EMPH.

Conor was Ali coming back to beat Frazier

Conor learned from the Nate loss, and it took him to a whole nother level. No one is ever going to hang with Conor again.

Anyway, it was magical...lots of crow was served miles stacked high on cold hard plates...

Redemption!

Suprise suprise mother fuckers, THE KING IS BACK

Then Conor moved up in weight to Matrix fuck the champion ABOVE HIM, to make history

No one had a greater year

You want to talk about, "but what was the best narrative" (the excuse used to say Bisping was fighter of the year)

Well, narrative wise, what gets bigger then Conor, the biggest star in combat sports history, avenging the only loss of his UFC career, just months later

Diaz-v-McGregor2.jpg

What gives you goosebumps like this

New%20splash.jpg

And then instantly after that, literally 4 months later, Conor then MADE HISTORY son

UFC-205-Alvarez-v-McGregor.jpg

Nothing gets bigger then all of that, especially Conor accomplishing all that in a span of months

Conor was the undispued fighter of the year

I already know the Conor hating newbs will latch on to "bu but was 2-1"

Robbie Lawlor was 2-1 when he won fighter of the year, and he didnt accomplish half the things Conor did

So thats an invalid excuse

Just a "convienient cop out" for Conor haters to latch on to. If Conor was undefeated, then it would be on to finding another hater excuse to latch on to

When it comes to pure accomplishments, natratives, magical feelings, only Conor had it all covered

Conor broke fight records and PPV numbers...NO ONE HAD a better year, period

Conor again was the undisputed fighter of the year. No one else made history, no one else's year had themes of redemption PLUS history PLUS Matrix like performances PLUS broke PPV records

Saying anyone else but Conor is pure hate

Waffle

I'm just going to say the manletism is strong in this thread an get the Fuck out of here.

Go away boxingislife. Your shtick is old and beyond played out by now.

Guys your view on on Conor for fighter of the year?

Tapped in 1.3 seconds

"If I have a full camp he wont touch me"

Hahahahahahahahahahaha

UltimateMessyFugu-size_restricted.gif

Then Nate cries excuses after Lmao

Nate's loss to Conor was one of the most embaressing and humilating ive ever seen

Conor beat down that "crackhead ese cholo"

Was still an incredible year for Conor McGregor regardless of the Nate loss. Very exciting, and the Alvarez win was brilliant.

3 of the top 5 all time PPV's?

  4. Evander Holyfield vs. Mike Tyson; June 28, 1997; 1.99 million buys

  5. Lennox Lewis vs. Mike Tyson; June 8, 2002; 1.97 million buys

  6. Conor McGregor vs. Nate Diaz; August 20, 2016; 1.65 million buys

  7. Brock Lesnar vs. Frank Mir; July 11, 2009; 1.6 million buys

  8. Nate Diaz vs. Conor McGregor; March 5, 2016; 1.6 million buys

  9. Evander Holyfield vs. Mike Tyson; November 9, 1996; 1.59 million buys

  10. Mike Tyson vs. Peter McNeeley; August 19, 1995; 1.55 million buys
He's not even in the top 5. He's certainly not got the highest selling PPV in combat sports history.

https://twitter.com/RondaRousey

https://twitter.com/TheNotoriousMMA

Who's more popular?

Hard to be the greatest star in the history of the sport when someone who hasn't even competed in a year still has more followers on twitter, eh?

Conor averages more buys than Floyd when you average 5 against 12+. How about in their last 5?

Fact is Floyd in just his last two sold as many, and possibly more PPV's than Conor's last 4 fights. And one of those was estimated around 400-550k for Floyd!

I'm not good with computers because I actually like things like vaginas. Could you please post some footage of Connor running away like a bitch? I want to clock his 1/4 mile time

Sorry TS, but there is only 1 answer for the true fight of the year:

ANGELA "OVERKILL" HILL
angela-hill-tuf-20-finale.jpg

In bouncing back from a difficult 2015, she went down to Invicta and achieved the following:
2 win by KO/TKO, earning herself a shot at the title
Winning the IFC 115lb title
DEFENDING her title successfully. 4 fights in a year, including a title win and title defense.

Angela Hill, Fighter of the Year.
Yeeah....noo

If beating sub par opponents in the minor leagues got you fighter of the year then there would be 100 fighter of the year winners every year

Conor is the only undisputed fighter of the year. Conor MADE HISTORY in the MAJOR leagues son...nothing beats that

Lol thats not how it works

This isnt a liberal participation award

It simply goes to who was most deserving

Conor earned it the most, and was most deserving (avenged his only loss, made history etc)

You cant penalize Conor for being an amazing, revolutionary, super high IQ tactician year in and year out. That's absurd. If Conor continues to have years like this, hes fighter of the year 5 years in a row...if he deserves it...this isnt based on handing out mercy awards to others just because Conor is too great...again, absurd liberal logic

You can penalize him for having a loss, though. None of the other candidates lost a fight this year.

More like 215 to be honest.

More like 290. Also he was 8' tall, and killed men 50 at a time, shot lightning bolts from his eyes, and fire from his arse.
