Conor is looking for a way out (UFC will pull him out citing refusal to do media obligations)

Wow. Conor has 4 of the top 5 UFC PPV records...but this little doozy will add at least another 20-30 views easy. Well done Khabib. Next time wear your furry hat. Ppl love that.

Conor basically made his career because of media. Without the media as a platform, Conor would just be an another fighter!
Key word: made.

Your boy's made it. He doesn't need to promote like he used to.

Khabib isn't the worst matchup.. Stay on your feet a couple minutes and CM (lol) could look great.

That was the Fertitta era...WME era will let Conor do whatever he wants.

Listen i love Conor, but lets be real. Most of us know him because of his pre-fight obligations. Yes his fights are good, but we were hyped of his fighting before that.

Didn't Uncle Dana say from day one they weren't doing much media on this?

No, the UFC needs Conor to lose here, so that he's easier to negotiate with in the future, if he does decide to return after the loss.

Not a chance that happens, Conor and the UFC stand to make yuuuuge $$

That was before he became a global star. MayMac put him over the top.

You’re logic is all wrong.

Conor has always taken risky fights. That’s why people love the guy.

Conor’s probably one or two fights away from retiring or fighting occasionally. He’s made well enough money to live the rest of his life and isn’t some frat boy extreme sports fighting fenatic who wants to keep doing this shit.

He knows a second Mayweather fight isn’t likely to happen because Floyd is rich as fuck and doesn’t give a fuck and the fans aren’t going to get behind a second fight because the first one was so one sided.

No.

The real story is he knows he's probably going to lose to Khabib and doesn't want to give the UFC any sound bites that will blow up in his face after so he doesn't look like Ronda if he gets wrecked. It protects his image and celebrity moving forward. He doesn't want to become a walking meme.

This is why is he was willing to do a crazy shit like the dolly throw, but can't put his mug infront of a tv for 5 lousy minutes in Ireland for an interview to get himself more ppv sales. He doesn't want to say shit.

Or he could have just not signed the fight since nobody (including you) was expecting him to return

Yet he did, only to pull out? So let me get this straight, your logic is

1)Nobody expects Conor to return
2)Lets actually announce a return and put all eyes on me again
3)And then back out cause thats the smart thing to do

If so, he wouldn't have taken the fight.

More likely, he doesn't want to promote and just wants to focus on training. Khabib is a tough SOB and media calls and conferences are a waste of time. Conor is Conor, he just made a fuck load of money, he doesn't need snort some blow and hype the fight up in some conference like the past.

The actual marketing will start the week of the fight and is probably being recorded now, everything is irrelelvant.

After 228 is over , then we will hear from ufc and conor left and right. Kinda crappy to sell a card a month away and have a 2 title fight event in 2 days. I do remember dana saying something like they wanted 3 full months to promote a conor fight as the reason dana gave when tony fell over the cable and conor tweeted he was ready. Guess conor has somethi g else scheduled this time so only had a shorter timeline to fight for artem.

No he made his career by Turning Dustin Porier (who has the heart of a fucking lion) into a quivering coward that backed straight up, and didn't bother even throwing punches after he felt the mans left hand, he also made his name by crumbling mendes on 1 weeks notice then further cemented his legacy by Knocking out the only 145 pound champ the UFC ever knew in 14 seconds
