He has developed a certain meta to counter the traditional orthodox mma striking some of his opponents fought scared and nervous he fought focused and confident in most of his fights.
the holes in his game are being figured out and people were starting to exploit them Nate came up with the counter right hook after Conor's two, Khabib has figured out his entries and timing for the left straight and was shifting from side to side when McGregor was trying to trap him, Poirier with the calf kicks to the lead leg from southpaw..etc

I really hope Conor still gets to go up against Pac-Man, I def don't see him beating Pacquiao but it'll be a fun fight to watch

It would definitely appear the game has certainly passed him by, you can't get better at Fighting at the Highest level fighting as little as he does, and against opponents like Cowboy.

McGregor's business ventures outside the cage are understandable from a Financial POV but he can't afford these long periods of not having fights and expect to be the best, ALTHOUGH others have come back from similar times off and performed flawlessly, namely Khabib, for McGregor though, he definitely needs to be more active and go back to his in and out karate stance where he's light on his feet. That Boxing heavy stance is not gonna do him any favors going forward.

Yeah. You'll notice it's the first rematch he's given to someone he's beat. Even Khabib could get figured out through experience.

Correct. Nate showed what a good chin, cardio, and basic boxing can do. Also, that check hook was working for him in the first fight.

Nate also showed that Connor does not do well getting hit clean. Especially on the Chin.

Prior to this, Connor did eat a big shot from Aldo but it was towards the eyebrow. I don't think Connor ever got hit flush like this.

Connies got a good set of chin on him but he reacts so badly to getting hit. He for the life of him can’t put his hands up when he gets tagged.

He was never invincible or on the level of someone like Fedor, Jones, GSP or any of the true elites. He's more like Ronda where he's very good at a certain thing but if it doesn't work, he's completely beatable.

Just think about it. Bad cardio, average to bad chin, mediocre to bad wrestling, mediocre takedown defense, virtually no submissions. He's got a left hand and accuracy. Can you say that about any of the other greats?

Much like Ronda, because he has a personality and appeals to non-MMA fans, his skill set was greatly exaggerated. He's a good fighter but his hype is greater than his skill set.

Pacquiao threw ~900 punches against Morales. Ok, he was younger and lighter. But he still showed 600 in his last fights.
Conor's highest was 322 with gloves weighing half as much and in a fight in which he ran away to recover his arms. Also against a guy that can't box half as much.

How can his style be figured out when he came in this fight with a new style that was ineffective?

He can always go back to the wide stance and still be difficult to deal with.

But forget boxing Manny or other greats or even goods in boxing, now that Poirier was enough to first be competitive in boxing, then too difficult to defend against. It wasn't just the low kicks in that fight!
