Yes folks, Conor continues to defy what his detractors want to accuse him of. “He’ll never fight Khabib” and “he’ll never defend a belt” are the two most common complaints people level against Conor to justify their dislike of him.

Conor never lost his belt to another fighter, and only a couple of months after being stripped he is fighting for the belt again. Make no mistake, lords and ladies, Conor is defending what is his, and doing it against the toughest opposition available.

Nah he got striped for not defending , and is trying to win it back

I expect better from a 2011 account

Facts, this will be Conor’s first official title defense at 155. Diving at Al Iaquinta’s ankles and pawing with a jab all night does not make Khabib the champ, he’s the interim, interim champ.

Okay so I guess GSP is still WW champ and Bas Rutten is still the HW champ.

At the end of the day, It always really came down to money. As could be attested from his post fight press conference after beating Eddie. It was clear that was on the horizon given his level of stardom, Income he was bringing Into the company relative to his purse percentage wise and the post Floyd Conor Super fight.

At the end of the day, this all really came down to wanting revenue comparable to what Floyd and other high level athletes are / were making In terms of percentages. Of which the UFC has never given another athlete since It's Inception.

Im pretty sure he is the challenger, that said its about fookin time. Im pumped for this one, the lead up is gonna be stupendous. Let's hope the fight is as well.

It's really his second title defense
He was a champion after he beat Mendes and then KO'd Aldo

People think Khabib is the champion after beating Iaquinta. <Lmaoo>

Conor will easily defend his belt against Khabib.

he never defended any title, FW title not defended and the one Khabib holding w/c is the LW title.

Wonder what the new excuse to hate om conor will be.

All we will hear are cries about Conor having not defended his belt a day after he has defended it.

We will hear how he can never be the GOAT despite slaying Khabib. Hell, he could beat every UFC fighter on the roster, but apparently if he's not defending a belt it doesn't count.

Khabib is the champion, stop embarassing yourself.
Guys, Khabib won his belt by beating the #11 guy. He is a terrific fighter, but he is also the paperiest paper champ in UFC history.

This is Conor’s chance to defend and Khabib’s chance to solidfy himself as the real champ.

Pretty sure those guys retired or voluntarily relinquished their belts. Pretty sure the guys who won the belts after them had to beat other top fighters to do so.

He defended his title against Aldo, and is now doing so against Khabib.

FACTS.

Don't be a sheep
Whether a title is defended or not should not depend on what the UFC label it to 1. Sell their PPV and 2. To get the fighters in the cage

The belt Conor won from #2 Mendes and then defended against Aldo is far more legitimate than Khabib's Alquinta belt.

So it's Khabib's fault nobody could /would fight him instead of Al ?
Would that not have been the REAL time Conor defends? Why did he not step in when Tony got injured?
Now you Conor fans spin this shit??? Jeez-us.
