It seems like so many whitebelts/March 2016 join dates on Sherdog love to spout this line about Conor being a LW. Conor is one of the "biggest" guys in FW right?
WRONG.
There are two things that make someone "big". Weight and height. Let's go over weight first.
We all know Conor cuts alot of weight. But here's the thing, Conor is NOT strong. Conor has pathetic takedown defense and has never been known to bully guys with his strength. In fact, his weight cuts could actually be DETRIMENTAL to his performance, but Conor is a warrior through and through. If you want to see the REAL abuse of weight cutting, this picture explains it all (yes these two actually fought):
Now onto height.
Check out the tallest guys in FW:
Cole Miller - 6'1
Julian Erosa - 6'1
Dan Hooker - 6'0
Jason Knight - 6'0
Lucas Martins - 6'0
Kevin Sousa - 6'0
Alex White - 6'0
That's 7 guys all 3-4" taller than Conor. But these guys are NOT even close to sniffing belts.
The truth is that being a manlet actually HELPS in FW division. Being short lets you pack on more muscle = more athleticism. Taller guys are disadvantaged because most of the weight is taken up by bones instead.
To summarize, Conor is not the tallest in FW, Conor is not the strongest in FW and he is actually disadvantaged so don't run around and say he is abusing anything.
Conor haters are shook.
