It seems like so many whitebelts/March 2016 join dates on Sherdog love to spout this line about Conor being a LW. Conor is one of the "biggest" guys in FW right?

WRONG.

There are two things that make someone "big". Weight and height. Let's go over weight first.

We all know Conor cuts alot of weight. But here's the thing, Conor is NOT strong. Conor has pathetic takedown defense and has never been known to bully guys with his strength. In fact, his weight cuts could actually be DETRIMENTAL to his performance, but Conor is a warrior through and through. If you want to see the REAL abuse of weight cutting, this picture explains it all (yes these two actually fought):

Now onto height.

Check out the tallest guys in FW:
Cole Miller - 6'1
Julian Erosa - 6'1
Dan Hooker - 6'0
Jason Knight - 6'0
Lucas Martins - 6'0
Kevin Sousa - 6'0
Alex White - 6'0

That's 7 guys all 3-4" taller than Conor. But these guys are NOT even close to sniffing belts.

The truth is that being a manlet actually HELPS in FW division. Being short lets you pack on more muscle = more athleticism. Taller guys are disadvantaged because most of the weight is taken up by bones instead.

To summarize, Conor is not the tallest in FW, Conor is not the strongest in FW and he is actually disadvantaged so don't run around and say he is abusing anything.

Conor haters are shook.

Is this a troll? For the sake of MMA I hope it is

Probably up there with the worst Conor thread of the day.

Here's a gold star for your effort

Conor is a natural lightweight his weigh in photos prove that.

Next.

Conor is a LW because he has major issues cutting the weight to 145 at the age of 27. He'll be forced to leave the FW division simply because he won't be able to continue cutting the same amount of weight the older he gets.

Which btw is fine. Rockhold and Weidman are, at least, LHW size and nobody cares.

Conor makes 145 pounds he is a featherweight.

Until they change weight divisions and the weigh in process, that is just a fact.

Every weight class has an average fight weight, average height, and average reach...

We can only speculate on fight weight. But considering how bad he looks on the scales, I think Conor probably cuts more than almost all Featherweights. Therefore, I think it's reasonable to assume he's closer to average Lightweight fight weight than Featherweight fight weight.

In height, you're actually correct. The average Featherweight is 5ft9. The average Lightweight is 5ft10. It's very close though. Conor is 5ft9.

In reach, Conor is a Welterweight. Roughly, WW has a 74" average, LW has a 72" average, FTW has a 70" average. Conor has a 74" reach.

So, I think he's probably closer to most Lightweight fighters, if you consider all three size properties.

I find a lot of irony in how sensitive all the Conor McFans are. It's hilarious actually.

If frankie made 155 that damn sure means conor is a 155er.

Lol this is the reason conor and his fans get trolled so hard back now. They fucking deserve it

Good post. Let's run the same analysis on Jon Jones?

Conor fighting at LW is similar to Frankie fighting at FW, Miesha fighting at BW, TJ fighting at BW, or Mouse fighting at FLW. Make of that what you will.

Yea photos are everything this dude is definitely a WW.

Hmmmm 5"9 69 inch reach..yup sounds like a welterweight a small one proportionally.
Now post a photo of hendricks on the scale not when hes bloated out of camp. The cuts not as extreme, he only had a rough time making the weight because his diet was shit and he was carrying extra bf.
Conors lean so that doesn't apply to him, he clearly is a natural LW he wont be able to make that weight in 3 more years guaranteed.

Good post. Let's run the same analysis on Jon Jones?
Lets see jon jones 225 cuts 20ilbs.
Conor 175 cuts 30ilbs AND is the smaller human so his percentage of weight cut in relative to his weight is much larger.

It is wat worse saw in on another thread with age of opponents added also Jon had 3 inch Height adv. and 9.5 inch reach. ave. age was 32.5 he is 28.
