MMA fans who hate Conor wants to see him lose so badly, almost as much as Fedor haters wanted him to lose back in his prime.

What the haters are not seeing is that we could've something special here, Conor could've taken MMA to the next level, even surpassing boxing as the number 1 combat sport. But sadly he lost and the aura of invincibility is gone. I know he could still hold 2 belts at 145 and 155 but once you have a loss like that, the aura is gone man, just like what happened to Andy and Fedor.

I'm not exactly a fan of trash talkers, I prefer champions like Robbie Lawler, but as a fan of this sport for almost a decade, I was excited as fuck when Conor came into the game, he literally was changing the fight game 1 fight at a time, he was the ONE real fans (and promoters) were waiting for. Once in a life time fighter, we've had fighters who dominated the game before, Fedor, GSP, Andy, Bones and even Aldo, but none of them had the charisma and WWEsque antics that Conor has.

As far as I'm concern, last night was a sad sad night for MMA.

Yeah, if Cloner was a better fighter we could have seen something special. Too bad his hubris and ego got in the way of him defining himself through title defenses.

Now he's going to go back to beating up guys he called midgets and manlets for a year plus, bullying them because of a size advantage.

The question is, now that the aura is gone, can he consistently do it?

Conor has taken MMA to the next level. Impressive given his self-proclaimed lack of talent and amateur ground game.

woulda coulda shoulda waaaaaaaaaaa waaaaaaaaa waaaaaaaaaaaa

Every single time Conor signed the dotted line, he shows up. Can you say that for all or even most the fighters? Didn't think so.

His "haters" didn't cause him to lose, his ego is guilty of that infraction.
TS you are guilty on all counts for being a blind Conor nuthugger, bailiff take him back to cell of tears.

Im happy watching the UFC now.
I couldnt care less if it goes to the next level and makes dana and zuffa richer. I am happier with Diaz winning and I am sure he is happier winning rather than seeing Conor hold 3 titles.

Jon Jones could become a 2 division champ, and is much more gifted all around than Conor. Conor didn't even defend the title he won once before he tried for another. A true legend is built over the long haul not after 6 or 7 wins and no title defenses. I believe Conor is a good fighter, but he's not as great as his fans like to make him out to be.

People get all butthurt about the persona he puts up to sell fights. When selling fights and making big checks directly affects the sport and every fighter in it. You don't got to be a fan but at least recognize most of what he does leading to the fight benefits everyone in MMA.

I'm just enjoying all the quotes flying around.

"If he's still conscious when he hits the mat, I will crush his hips and mount him. I will strangle him like a boa constrictor on a gazelle."

I don't necessarily like when someone loses, but it's hard not to laugh at all the crow being served.

Conor is not that special, very good MMA striker with a big mouth and little ground game.

A guy who deserved to lose for all the trash he's talked about other fighters and for how bad he's making the UFC look lost. It was a good night and one of the best things that has ever happened in the sport.

Conor got exposed and lost yet again to a submission. He taps faster than Sage Northcutt.

I have liked MMA for over 15 years at this point; Conor wasn't taking the spot to any new level for myself. All he did was bring in a lot of fans that I found to be mostly annoying and made the bosses a lot of driveway snow in Las Vegas, again no benefit to myself. If he brought you to watch MMA, and you stick around as a result of him then that's cool, but he in no way shape or form has changed MMA for me, but he gave me a few fun fights.

Don't get me wrong I started having doubts about Conor especially his TDD and ground game after seeing the Mendes fight, I'm not delusional. After that mendes fight I know for sure there is NO WAY he could handle the top wrestlers at 170, no way.

What I'm trying to say basically is that it's startling to me so many people who want to see Conor fail. IMO if you're a real fan of MMA, if you love this sport, you would want to see him succeed.

Maybe if he spent more time on his bjj and cardio and less on his charismatic speeches and flaunting his money he would have actually become the goat.

Conor has a huge mouth and is a great showman.

He's just a good fighter. He's not exceptional.

I like the way Meisha and Holly were prefight. I dont need the trash, and i find it annoying that the excuse for it is, 'he's just selling the fight'. Manafactured drama is worse than real beef.

He showed that charisma and good talent can give you the highest pay. I still think Jon Jones is the one to take MMA to the next level as in bring in more athletes and eyes to see that MMA is considered a sport. He comes from a family of amazing athletes who are some of the best on the NFL so he has more room to be a ambassador to other athletes to use MMA as a venue to shine. All that's left is the pay.
