Look, I am a huge MMA fan. I have always loved the diaz bros. They are what MMA is all about and they embody the true heart and soul of this sport and what it takes to be a fighter. But this Nate won crap is absolutely stupid. Respect to both fighters for putting on a show and one hell of a fight that is definitely up there with any of the all time fights. Conor Won this CLEARLY. Did he dominate? Hell no. Did Nate have his moments, and did nate have Conor where he wanted him? hell yes.
But, the fact is Conor clearly won rounds 1 and 2. Nates flurry at the 1:22 mark in the second does not over come 2 knockdowns and complete outclassing the first 3:38 of the round. Round 3 was clearly Nates, but he never really wobbled Conor, I just felt Conor was gassed and the pressure Nate was putting on him was really overwhelming him in that round. Round 4 was the difference where Nate clearly took most of it off and let Conor gain some momentum back. Conor won round 4 with more strikes and the bigger strikes. round 5 was meh on both sides with both guys not doing really that much and having moments. The takedown won it for nate, but had he not gotten it, tbh it very well could have been Conor's round. It was a clear 3-2 fight.
I see this stuff everywhere on FB and here that diaz was robbed or that diaz won this fight, or that the fight was really close. That isn't what I saw in any way shape or form. I saw Conor outclassing the bigger guy and landing all the big shots the whole fight. If Conor can up his gas tank, which at 155 i think will be a bit better, he eats nate up. I just can't get over how many people really thought this was that close of a fight. If it wasn't for it being Nate, and him being the damn warrior and savage he is, most fighters would have crumbled after getting blasted like he did. Just because Conor clearly won, doesn't diminish the savage diaz is. It really just shows us how good Conor can be. Can't we all just appreciate How great this sport is becoming and how good these fighters are getting, instead of creating stupid controversy?
