Conor had a bit of trouble connecting against the rangier, taller fighter.

Nate isn't much bigger. They have the same walking weight. Nate is taller. Conor got fucked up fighting a 155er that wasn't in Cage Warriors. You might as well think of this fight as 2 LW's fighting at their walking weight. Conor would have the same weight cut as Nate if they fought at 155. Conor goes the extra mile to cut to 145 and fight much smaller opponents.

This man speaks truth.

In the first round, he was landing on almost everything he threw.

I was surprised at that as well. Also, he threw very few kicks. Why not attack Nate's body like he did against mendes? Not sure why he didn't. His kicking could have been a huge factor, if he utilized it more. he threw some spinning shit, but that is never that effective in these fights. Where was all his front kicks to the body or the high kicks to the head and body?
I would guess that his ego beat him. He clearly wanted to throw bombs and KO Nate but Nate was better in that area.

NO tears my friend. I am a bit shocked. But they aren't the same size. Conor has fought the majority of his career at 145lbs. he's fought 3x at 155lbs and that was his heaviest weight. he weighed 168lbs at weigh ins, that is 23lbs heavier than 155lbs. That will effect his cardio.. I don't care what the fight stats you quote say, I didn't see much of anything nate threw land. maybe most of those 22 punches were jabs. But i saw conor landing heavy left hands and uppercuts the entire 1st round...

That's like saying gsp and bj penn were the same weight. When they weren't.

168 is 13 lbs heavier than 155, not 23 lbs. For some of Conor's FW fights he has come into the Octagon around that weight. Conor didn't have to cut weight for this fight, so his cardio should be better. Conor is a huge FW, Nate is a big LW, but it wasn't a true difference of 2 weight classes. Just as Conor kills himself to make weight for FW & has fought at LW, Nate struggles to make LW & has fought at WW. The true difference is 10 lbs, not insignificant, but not a true difference of 2 weight classes

In the first round, he was landing on almost everything he threw. He tried to take nate out and gassed. That is when his punches started missing and started to get hit. Those saying he has no chin are morons. He's already proven he has a great chin. but when you move up 2 weight classes and fight a guy that is obviously much larger than you, this is what can happen.
Desperate attempt is Desperate. Lmaooooo.

Diaz easily has a larger frame. 6ft with a 76" reach is even pretty sizable for WW let alone LW. Conor is easily a weight class below Nate size wise. Just like the guys Conor usually fights at FW are usually smaller than him.

The thing about that is it doesn't matter. When Conor was beating the smaller fighters, his fanboys dismissed those arguments but suddenly it's a justification for losing?

Nope, if you can ignore size when he's winning then you need to ignore it when he's losing too.

Lmfaoooo, full on damage control. Hahahahahahaha Africa looking like Venice Italy with rivers of McG hugger tears.

"Damage control"???

It is clear to me this morning that McGregor haters are even more blindly rabid and annoying than McGregor fanboys.

Nate was to Conor, essentially, as Conor was to Brimage.

Because I believe my lying eyes.

Here's a nice little gem for the Conor apologists/revisionists in regards to his weight from his coach:
http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...veals-mcgregor-coach-owen-roddy-a6893251.html

"Conor would love to do it. Conor walks around 80 kilos (177lbs) and he'd still be cutting a bit at '77'," said Roddy.

"Trust me, at that weight, he would still be knocking people out without a doubt."

"He's hit very hard and punches way above his weight. He's very, very accurate and those two things combined they are devastating," he concluded.

Then there's this bit straight from the horse's mouth:

"He neglects other disciplines. That's hampered the Diaz brothers' progression as martial artists. I feel his body will be ripped to shreds. It's a soft frame. The left uppercut will be a nice one. [His] long range is an illusion. The left uppercut will ping him clean."

The backtracking from the retarded levels of trash Conor and his rabid fans talked while hyping him to eventually beat Lawler is hilarious. He's #1 p4p bro. Lmao. You reap what you sow. Can't get over denial without acceptance Conor nuthuggers.

10 day Nate Diaz Bless.

Conor and Nate weigh the same, bro.

Nate Dios.

If they fought at 155lbs, it might have went differently. Conor carrying 13lbs over the 155lb limit, probably gassed him faster.

If they fought at 155 Conor would have dehydrated himself for weigh ins and then rehydrate to around 165+ on fight night after rehydration anyway...

stop this 'bigger guy' nonsense: Hearns was taller than Hagler, nor bigger neither a weight class above.

Of course Nate can walk around at about 170 if he counts his calories, does massive cardio and avoids the weight room like the plague.

Let Nate pump some iron, pack some actual muscle mass on that big, gangly frame and he could be fighting successfully at MW.
No he can't. I have a walking weight of 190 and was a WW. When I was working with one of my old teammates backstage at a local fight, Nick and Nate working with their guy who I was friends with. I came up and said whats up and Nate was waaaaay smaller than me! I am 6'3" and MW's are waaay bigger than me! Nate is not ever fighting at MW and he definitely does not walk around at much more than 170.

Nate is acutally a small light weight.

The thing about that is it doesn't matter.

Really?

When Conor was beating the smaller fighters, his fanboys dismissed those arguments but suddenly it's a justification for losing?

Why are you projecting what some retard fanboy says to what I wrote? I am simply posting an observation about the fight and why Conor ultimately didn't have success. Nate's size did play a factor. Conor's size advantage in past fights was indeed a factor in him winning before.

Nope, if you can ignore size when he's winning then you need to ignore it when he's losing too.

Back the train up. I literally just said "the guys Conor usually fights at FW are usually smaller than him". How am I ignoring the fact Conor being big for FW is a major reason for his success there?

He is a good striker, but just doesn't have the power or the chin that everyone thought he had. He won many of his fights by getting into the head of his opponent. The mystique is now gone, which opens him up for future losses.

Your complex understanding of human anatomy and physiology is truly impressive.
I think Conor claimed to be at 180 a month before the fight. I dont know the guys, but I have met the Diaz bros many a times because I am from the 209. Nate looks less than 180 every time I have seen him. Nick on the other hand is slightly shorter than me, but looks like he weighs what I way.

I know Mike Bisping is 6'5"... But he's an exception.

God, I hope you're trolling, brah.

People think he is big because he is tall. You should see him next to Gilbert. Gilbert is shorter, but looks way bigger than him.

Tall but skinny does not equal big.

Tall but skinny does not equal big.

Skinny guys can get big. It's called lifting. A secret process known about by insiders for over 50 years.

Unless Nate Diaz has some sort of endocrine disorder he clearly possesses the height and frame to fight successfully at MW - if he puts in the time and effort to add the muscle mass.

Conor could NEVER legitimately compete, physically, at MW. Just like Nate could not physically make the cut to 145.

I can't believe all of this isn't obvious to everyone.
