Dana White has too much pride. It's either his way or the high way. He is unable to compromise for the benefit of the fans.

Fedors camp brings more drama.

Or, tried.

I think when Fedor was on top,it seemed like the demands of his camp, their way of doing business in pride was completley incompatible with the UFC,and they were making alot of money and fighting big fights outside the UFC anyway. For a few years it was possible to sustain themselves. Now i think itll be easier, but yes,Fedor spent his whole career doing business one way,UFC has all sorts of restrictions, and i can understand him not wanting to be under them. Many fighters went to the UFC from Pride, but Fedor was the top dog. He had alot of freedoms that he cant have here, and we have seen what happens when you want to retire or take time off, what Dana white would do or say to discredit..something he didnt have to worry about anywhere else. He brought this up originally that their contracts would have him to keep fighting forever. if he would win the belt, hed be so tied up in what hed have to do.

Fedor doesn't want to be in the UFC. Not for all the vodka in Russia.

Even though we don't know the exact negotiation details of what went on in either case, I do think it's pretty rare that an mma fighter has enough star power to stand up to an entire organization to get what they believe they deserve.

Ever since there was a comparison of sport salaries (relative to the UFC's commission), I usually side with the fighter first.

If Fedor hand't been managed by Vadim but by someone who really cared about HIS best interests, not a leech that wanted to gain more than the champ himself, I'm pretty positive he would have been in the UFC a LONG time ago ...

McG on the other hand had all his demands granted but thought he "ruled the game" and went way overboard

lol you poor thing, this has nothing to do with why fedor is not in the UFC.

its been known for a long time - if you dont fight in the ufc, you will be challenged for not fighting the best etc - people who fight in the ufc are willing to be treated badly, so pick your poison

Joachim hansen,Kharitonov, and many others resisted UFC forever. They dont get nearly as much flack.

I disagree on your sentiment on two accounts; Fedor does want to be in the UFC, he just wanted a couple warm up fights (and some respect, which DW is finally showing him), and the other is that Fedor does not drink, not even vodka.

Ive seen him drink vodka several times, they showed him drink with his buddies after his victory over arlovski. He has mentioned having a competition against barnett to drink vodka

Yeah seems smart to let the company get browbeaten into giving him what he wants. Then every champion will start doing the same, and suddenly, they aren't in control of the company anymore. I don't blame the UFC at all for this. If Conor didn't want to fulfil his contractual agreements he shouldn't have signed them in the first place.

There's the classic invitation to Randleman to get drinks with Fedor.

And this little gem. Damn I miss Igor.

ufc will also make a point to say that everyone they dont sign 'isn't good enough' and you hear everyone hear talking about 'whether someone is good enough to be in the ufc or not' when in reality it all comes down to money and treatment - it sounds ridiculous when they talk about fighters like fedor or benson henderson, but they are able to get away w that argument w most other fighters - then the same geniuses are surprised when strikeforce fighters come in and dominate - there is so much talent everywhere and fighters have ups and downs, but the ufc has people brainwashed, largely, that you're the best if you're in the ufc, and if yo'ure not, you suck
