Miesha was promised the next title shot by Dana and people wanted to see that fight but then at the last second the fight gets taken away from her and given to Holly which surprised even her.

It was Ronda's choice and let's be honest, she probably didn't want to give Miesha another shot because she hates Miesha. Ronda sold 900K PPVs fighting the accountant Bethe and sold 1.1 million fighting Holly. She picked Holly then got KTFO and everyone knows the aftermath.

Conor was about to fight RDA and sell 1 million+ PPVs. He sold 825K vs Mendes and 1.2 million vs Aldo.

RDA pulls out and Conor loses his huge PPV fight which might have sold more than the Aldo fight. Everyone in the UFC rushes to twitter to call out Conor and he gets to pick anyone he wants. The last time this happened he picked the Mendes who was on a 1 fight win streak and wasn't even training instead of Edgar who was training and on a 4 fight win streak.

Dana called Faber and offered him the fight and he agreed right away. Conor could have KO'd Faber in 1 round and kept his huge PPV fight with RDA but instead chose a guy who wasn't training but had the height/reach advantage and one of the best chins that both Rory and RDA couldn't crack.

Now Conor loses his huge PPV fight against RDA and his stock drops a lot. Sonnen went from selling 1 million PPVs against Silva to selling 500K against Jones.

TLDR: Both fighters were huge PPV stars and could have sold 1 million PPVs KOing any bum but instead chose a tougher fight and got finished and their unbeatable aura/mystique destroyed.

Man who cares if she chose to fight holly instead of miesha. Eventually someone would have done that to her,if she kept believing her striking was better than it really was.

Both fighters will sell just as many PPV's in their come back fights, so it really didnt matter in the scheme of MMA.

Ronda's outside hollywood star power might have taken a hit, but anyone that sees her act knew it was going to happen anyway.

Conor's loss will make zero difference in future PPV sales.

So it's better to lose those extra millions right now because she was going to lose to Holly eventually anyways?

Holly wasn't even thinking about a title shot and Dana surprised her when he offered it to her.

She went on record and said she wasn't ready or thinking about the title shot yet and would have had no problem waiting until she won a few more fights.
 
Conor went for the easy fight and got finished. He over-inflated his ego and lost touch with reality.He lost because he brought into his own hype and thought he was above weight.

Rhonda was actually fighting a top 2-3 contender in her own weight class

At the time when she beat Bethe,the criticisms of her fighting someone capable of defending themselves were at an all time high. She needed to fight someone skilled at SOMETHING. It was either Holly,or Cyborg,no one cared about another miesha fight except for miesha.
 
At least they aren't telling there fans they want to fight the best, then choose to fight cans.

Ronda didn't pick the fight with Holly, Dana did. He thought that Holly is a tomato can who Ronda will run over easily. And that Holly being the former boxing champion would significantly increase Ronda's reputation as a striker, and as fighter in general. Plus, it would have been a nice jab at boxing, as the sport's main rival. But, Dana was wrong.

I guarantee you. If Dana had even a slightest idea about how good Holly was, Holly would have never gotten that title shot.

It wouldnt surprise me if Ronda sells even more if and when she returns....her fans really don't give a rats ass.

The UFC will spin Conors record and probably get more out of him to.

Don't count out the UFC's hype machine so quickly.

I dont agree.They had to find someone that would provide an interesting fight. Another 15 sec win would have been bad for everyone involved. We allready caught that show,its boring.Their resources were running out.
 
They are def gonna keep making ridiiculous crazy silly gumby gold with conor. Guy is still the goddamn FW champ who slept the unbeatable Aldo.

Ronda's the champ and just sold 900K PPVs fighting Bethe in a crap Brazil card. She ultimately gets to decide.

Carano said in negotiations that there were no other big fights for Ronda besides herself and Holly and Dana laughed at her and dismissed Holly as a contender.

You think Dana would put Holly in there if he thought Ronda would get KTFO and embarrassed by her like that?
 
Tito ortiz kept making money even after losing 15 fights in a row. Which shows how forgiving,and somewhat retarded some mma fans can be :D
 
WBW has another 2 1M+ PPVs lined up. Miesha vs Ronda & winner vs Holly.
