Connor liver kicking Aldo

I am curious what you guys think of the likelihood of Connor landing a fight ending liver kick on Aldo.

We have not seen him use this weapon against others (am i mistaken?).

Could this be something that he would look to surprise Aldo with?

If so, does he have the speed and power in that kick to end the fight?

A KO seems unlikely because it's not a strike Conor focuses on loading up those kicks with power and isn't something he lands with a lot of volume so you're just talking about a perfectly placed shot.

If we're talking about a one shot knockdown i'd expect it to come from Aldo.
 
Anything is possible, but it's unlikely. Conor doesn't throw heavy kicks, the kicks are stabbing jabs, or a distraction to try and mask the punching game (set up the left hand).

Plus Aldo is a tough sob (hence why he is a world champion). If he got dropped via body strikes, he would bounce back and fight through it. Unless he gets KOed on the chin your not stopping a guy like Aldo.

It seems to me that this kick must be in his arsenal (with at least decent speed and power).

However, we have not see him use it.

Which makes me curious whether this could be a kick that he would try and surprise Aldo with after having kicked two or three times to the head.

I know he does not throw the heavy kicks.

But does that mean that those kicks are not in his arsenal?
 
which aldo shows up?
if his form is d1,k1,adcc,golden gloves then he is winning.

Yeah true, the stance would favor Conor. I could see him landing a couple but going with the way Conor throws kicks I would assume it would be from attrition rather than a one shot knockdown.
 
I think body kicks are going to be a big part of his arsenal. We saw that vs Mendes. He didn't really have the time to change his game-plan, and he kicked to the body in every exchange. I think he's planning on going to the body a lot with a high volume of kicks.

If he was able to land a "fight ending liver kick", we most likely would have seen it, or an attempt of it, by now. He's probably surprise himself more than Aldo.

He's a puncher first and everything else second.

Well, if you have so many weapons, and clearly getting the better of your opponents in all your fights, why not hide one or two for a time of need? Especially when you know that your opponents will look at your fight footage for tendencies. Anyways, time will tell what tricks they both have up their sleeves.

How rare is that?

If Conner has been training with Bas he has a chance lol

It's very rare that also gets kicked. Chad kicked him because he was protecting the take down. This will be s fun fight to watch with Conner pressuring.
 
It's possible...the liver kick doesn't necessarily have to be "heavy" to really hurt/stop someone. Especially if they are caught off guard, and aren't tensed up expecting a shot. I would definitely say it is highly unlikely though lol.

Oh. So, begging for the fight to be stood up is "clearly getting the better of your opponents'? I didn't realize Conor was letting Mendes work him over from the top. Was that just to make Mendes feel good about himself for a minute?
 
I think Aldo is going to use a lot of lateral movement and leg kicks to try and get Conor against the cage then go for the takedown and beat him up as he gets back to the feet. Rinse and repeat until he has tired him out enough to start opening up
 
I'm fairly certain aldo's biggest weapon in this fight will be bladder punches
 
If Conor kicks a lot he could find himself on his back a lot taking punches and elbows.
