has the UFC actually officially announced the fight or just other places? the reports I've seen are from places like this: https://twitter.com/jeremybotter http://www.lowkickmma.com/ufc-3/report-lawler-vs-condit-hendricks-vs-woodley-for-ufc-194/
They're targeting it for 194, but nothing is official. Both of them need to sign the contract. Usually these things go through.
thanks, anyone know how long they usually take for announcements like these after the story has broken?
Fighters usually get their contracts via fax, and signing them and sending them back is usually quick unless there's a contract negotiation or a fighter is unwilling to defend at that particular time, for whatever reason. So it depends on that and UFC's scheduling plans, which no one of us knows throughoutly. But in this case you have 2 fighters who've taken on all comers and haven't complained about opponents, so it should be quick.
inb4 Diaz 1,2,5. Seriously though, Condit has one close decision where he employed an evasive/counterstriking strategy, and somehow that's all that's required for a meme to be burned into the minds of Sherdoggers. Forgotten are his 28 finishes in 30 wins, forgotten is the beating he gave to GSP in a short 90-second span in the 2nd round of their fight, etc.
I love Condit and everything but why is everyone overlooking the fact that woodley was beating him standing?
Yes, but he did it to the guy that most sherdoggers seem to identify with. Or want to be like for some reason. Fighting a smart fight to clinch an interim title and a shot against the champ isn't respected at all. I haven't seen all of Carlos' fights, but I've seen all of the UFC ones and several of the WEC ones and outside of the Diaz fight, they've all been exciting. Maybe not Woodley, but you can thank injury (and Woodley) for that. I couldn't be more excited for this fight. Looks like one of the best scraps ever. And that's after the last WW title fight which actually was one of the best ever.
* 3RD round *Koscheck did something to GSP in the first round of their first fight over a 90 second span and it didn't effect the outcome.
this is the second thread like this where i've seen the thread topic just get ignored, says a lot about people's excitement for this fight, I can't fucking wait! Condit by tko in the 5th.
