COMPETITION LOG - 2017 S&C Deadlift Comp

squat
sets reps weight lbs
4x5x255

bench
4x5x185

deadlift
4x425 PR
5x425 also PR. First reps of DL felt awful and slow, but I powered though and #5 felt faster than #1

12 chinups

650 will be it for gents. Had a meet two weeks ago and went for 675 and barely failed. Don't see myself maxing again in the next week or so and the competition ends January 1st if I'm not mistaken.

622-650 +28 lbs.

I'm not maxing out again either. 440 - 507 = +67lbs. Ugly but here it is:

601 ==> 607.5, I will go for one more pull at the end of next week, I am thinking I can squeeze out another 5-15lbs depending on how I feel.

Deadlift:

255(5)
315x2
405, 455, 495, 545, 585, 607.5

No deadlift pr to contribute to the comp. 685 was a massive grind and I almost didn't lock it out. Great job to the others that made improvements.
Squat
450x3
485x2

Deadlift
685x1

Edit: Didn't realize my buddy mike caught it on camera. I guess a whopping +5lb improvement for myself.

@JimRussel, you had any luck running sheiko? Thinking about giving the cms program a try, but I'm not completely sold on it. Not sure I want to squat/bench/Squat in the same session.

I used it three times and did very well with it last year. After a week deload and a regular workout I can back two weeks later each time and went up 15-20 pounds on each lift but also went from 205 to 230. So get fat and it works?

looks more like 627.5 at the top with ya nuts resting on the bar

Figured I better submit a video to be safe.

495 lbs/225 kg very tough, but still smooth and flat back +40 lbs PR for the team

495 was a struggle, as the most I lifted last couple of months was 425 for reps, but my back felt ok. Decided to go all out for Sherdog with 505lbs/229kg , was pretty ugly due to a little twist at the start and back rounded a bit. I will be sore for a while.
+50 lbs gainz for team blue!

I have officially pulled out due to injury. Sorry to let the team down.

I'll go for +5 lbs on Saturday. I haven't really pulled a high % of my 1RM for a bit. I've been working at lower %'s at higher rep/volume. I'm not really at a peaking point, but I'll give it a shot.

Tried to give it a go last saturday after squats and got 170 KG.

180Kg was a no go.

I only filmed the 180kg attempt so i only filmed my failure...

I might try again today if I am feeling good during the warm ups.

Will update with feedback later.

I will try to filme a 170 attempt today so it's fully valid.

I hit a 1kg PR today and got it on film. I’m glad I can stop attempting PRs for this comp now lol. My starting 1RM was 675 with pound plates. Today, I pulled 316/696 with calibrated competition plates. I suppose I could have gone over 700 with pound plates, but oh well.

This was a lot faster than my 315kg from last week.

+21lbs for me for the competition. BW at night: 231.6lbs.
