I'm looking into buying a new gi for an upcoming event... and IBJJF event. Now since I have to weigh in mins before my first match, and since I ive changed academies..I need a new gi..specifically one thatll help me show up light on the scale. I was looking at the Koral website and saw that their lights are IBJJF approved and weighs 3lbs... I looked at the standard and compeition gi but the site gives no weight for the gi.

Does anyone know how much they weigh?

Do the lights shrink much? I usually was my gi in cold water and hang dry over night, but fluff it for about 5 mins, Im looking to use the light a few times to get the feel of it but dont want it to shrink and violate any regulations.

What is the main difference between the variety of of Koral gis? I owned an mkm before any loved it but it eventually shrunk (i put it in hot water, dummy) I really liked the rubber lapel. Is it just patch placement that makes the difference or is some baggier?

Would you recommend a light gi for an IBJJF event, how long does the lights usually last?

I wear an A3 in a gameness gi, would it be the same for the Koral, or would I have to go a size up?

Thanks for the help.

I own the Koral lite in white. Over all I think it's a good gi but with two major drawbacks.
1) When you are training and get real sweaty the gi will stretch. which means if someone gets a good sleeve grip good luck breaking it.

2) Beware if you ever have to put it in a drier. I put mine in once and the collar shriveled up and the gi fits so weird now.

Also the gi has a tendency to get really dingy looking.
