Common sports narratives that aren't true (or are greatly exaggerated)

Do you really think the average center can shoot as good as the average point guard? Come on man.

What you and I think doesn’t matter. Here are the stats. Shooting has nothing to do with your height lol. Centers and point guards 3pt percentage is separated by a mere 0.5%. So I would say the average center can in fact shoot as well as the average point guard in today’s NBA. That’s not a matter of opinion, it’s fact. In fact, the stats show that power forwards shoot 3s slightly better than point guards. So at the end of the day, height has nothing to do with your ability to shoot.

Tyson was the GOAT HW
Cowboys are America's Team
Steroids are bad for sports
Kaepernick is blackballed
LeBron is the GOAT
Eli Manning is a HOFer (and I'm a Giants fan)
Pride>UFC
Griffin/Bonnar made the UFC mainstream

Why don't teams start and only play players 6'10" or taller?

Is this a serious question? I’m starting to think you’re trolling at this point. At some point, after I’ve been providing you with factual info, you should start rethinking your stance on this topic.

I’ll answer your question, but that’ll be my last contribution to this debate. Why don’t teams just start only 6’10 players? Let me answer with some questions. How many 6’10 and taller people do you know in your everyday life? Don’t you think people of that height are kinda rare? If they are rare in general, wouldn’t they be even more rare in the NBA?

That’s it for me lmao.

What would be the disadvantages of being 7 foot? So far you have yet to concede any.

How many time has the NBA team you pull for passed on a stud in order to draft size? I know my team has missed on big men too many times to count. The worst being drafting Todd Fuller instead of Kobe because they needed size. That guys release was so dang slow, he must have lead the league in getting his shot blocked.

More recently they drafted Wiseman instead of Halliburton. Inch for inch Wiseman has gotta be the worst rebounder in the league.

There are 15 multiple time MVPs in the NBA, 8 of them are centers and power forwards. Considering that, I’d say there’s not many disadvantages to being among the tallest in the NBA. And that’s not even counting a 6’9 point guard like Magic or 6’9 SF like LeBron.

Anyways, you’ve lost all credibility after saying centers couldn’t shoot, yet the stats show you’re totally wrong there. This debate is pointless. Adios.

You have yet to acknowledge a single disadvantage with being 7 foot tall but can't explain why teams don't start all 6'10" and above. LOL!

You gotta go back to the 90's to point out a good, tall point guard, why is that? Maybe taller players generally less skilled?

Why is this so hard for you to acknowledge?

There are 160 starting spots in a league of 32 teams. There’s approx 65 dudes who are 6’10 and taller in the entire league. Do the math, genius. Makes it even more impressive that the most repeat MVPs are big men, given that there’s not many of them in general. And go figure, that tall point guard has the most MVPs for point guards lol.

Hey smarty pants, there are 6'10" all over NCAA and G league, there are plenty of taller players. If hight was so important why not put a team together of all bigs? After all, you say centers are just as good of 3 point shooters as point guards.

Why is it unusual for a team to play 2 6'10" or above players at the same time?

How did you get so good at asking dumb questions? Lmao

Who said that’s unusual, you? lol
Lol! After ducking and weaving through the facts you have now resulted to insults.

Honestly, you sound really short. Like the chubby kid that shows up at the playground decked out in airjordans that can't play a lick.

At first I thought you were trolling but now I’ve come to the conclusion that you must be 12. Your questions are ridiculous lmao.

Lol! Back with the insults, I knew you wouldn't come back with any facts.

All you’ve presented have been opinions and didn’t provide a single stat to support the nonsense you’re spewing lol.

You’re like “big men can’t shoot”. I respond with, “yes they can and here are the stats”. Then you totally gloss over that after realizing you’ve been proven wrong.

You then ask a dumbass question, “why don’t teams just start all 6’10 players and taller?” Then I kindly tell you there are approximately only 65 players that fit that height category. Then you move the goal post even further by asking another dumb question.

So at this point, I’m out of patience, so that’s why now I just address you in accordance with your stupid questions. I haven’t given you facts? I actually provided you with stats and articles. You gave me your baseless opinions and nothing to back it up with lol.

LOL! Do you honestly think centers can shoot 3 pointers just as good as point guards do?

Run along kid.

The stats prove you wrong, idiot. Google is your friend you dunce lol. Just this season, point guards shot 35.6% from three, while centers shot 35.1%. The funniest part is that power forwards shot 35.7%. You’re so stupid, that you don’t even know what to do when presented with statistics that prove you wrong. Just accept it. Next time take the 30 seconds it takes to do a quick google search, before showing your ass in a debate that should be easily settled with stats.

Footballers are faster and more agile than basketball players, the only thing that basketball players are really better is leap ability. The fastest guy in the NBA would be smoked by the 15th fastest guy in football in a 100 meter dash
Objectively wrong. The reverse is true. Not only are soccer players not faster, they aren't even quicker despite a massive average height inferiority.

You must be retarded. Football players are way faster, they cover in a few seconds distances bigger than the whole basketball court in a football game. In any sort race 50 meter dash or 100 meter a footballer would embarrass a basketball player, for real can't believe that have people in the world that really believe that fucking basketball players are faster than footballers lol! This is next level delusion. And the same goes for agility, the smalllest guys in basketball aren't close to football players in terms of agility. Footballers do things that takes more agility and coordination than everything in basketball, everyone who believe that basketball players are more agile is delusional or don't know nothing about sports lol

Not retarded-- educated. I've covered this with objective, tested measurements (as in published studies by researchers or at athletic Combines) of general sprint times at an elite level in the past; usually focusing on a distance in the range of 20m to 24m.
