The first Combat Wrestling Team Trials were held last Sunday in Philippines.

Pretty neat. It is refreshing seeing this compared to the guard pull fests that have become so common in BJJ. I can only watch so many matches with guys leaping to their back and twirling around before they even engage.

Suprised to see Doug Fournet not take first in his division, really high level American Sambo guy that's competed internationally. Also, like I said... Denny takes his spot among the winners. And it's good to see Roli up there as well! Looks like the US is sending a strong team.

Kevin has been with Roli for a long time....they make some monster grapplers. Had a blast at the trials. The format makes for a fun competition to compete in and watch. Plus I got to get my ass kicked by Roli.....really awesome experience!!

Hated that Elliot couldn't make it

Last few months were quite intense and we have done a lot of work, pushing towards the 1st Combat Wrestling World Championship.
First, Id like to inform you for our new members- Hungary, Croatia, Iran. Negotiations are under way for several more countries.
We held several national team trials and the results are published on our website (combatwrestling.org).
Soon i will make a separated thread, to officially announce the names of each national squad, to represent their countries in Varna, Bulgaria on 22nd of August.
