For Lawler fight, $45,000 to show, $45,000 win bonus, $10,000 fight week incentive pay. He got $350,000 for Dos Anjos, Brazil fight.
Probably they are lowballing him, which might make sense. He is good fighter, can be entertaining sometimes, but despite his antics, casuals dont really tune to his fights.

I agree that the UFC has a history of horseshit power play and negotiation tactics, primarily with Dana going to the media to throw you under the bus if you don't roll over.

That being said, it isn't slave labor because no one is forcing these guys to sign these contracts, no one is being forced to fight. I agree that it sucks, but if you don't like it, go get a 9 to 5 like everyone else

Usman has stated he will fight anyone. Colby included. He pretty much said last week "Show me the money". So something is up. This is not just on Covington. At first everyone blamed Colby. Then Usman came out and pretty much said the same things Colby did. It kinda seems personal at this point. Like the UFC is just being assholes with em because they are not fan favorites and they can get away with it. They are still the champ and "ex" interim number 1 contender of the WW division.

I mean for fuck sakes. Book the fight or just get rid of the division all together. WW division is a mess and i don't believe for a minute it is all the fighters faults. It has been a mess for awhile. Seems like they have not had a happy champ for a very long time. This is all on the UFC. They are being dorks and playing hardball just because they can. In my honest opinion neither fighter is to blame. They both wanna scrap. They were both promised the fight. They both worked hard to get where they are. I don't think this is a matter of them even wanting more money. I think they just want to be payed fair and the ufc is low balling em with unrealistic lower then average purses.

In a socialist society where surplus value isn't allowed, not only would they not have their sports cars, everyone who worked at the lamborghini factory would be laid off.

True but in Colby's case specifically there seems to be a pretty big difference between how much of a draw he thinks he is and how much of one he actually is.

He is right. Even their shittiest events bring in millions. The brand is worth billions. There is multiple games, Action figures. Clothing lines. Tv deals, Online services. The list goes on and on. The fighters should all be getting paid more. Nothing will change until Fighters joins the rest of the sports and unionize. It will be run by crooked promoters like Don King, Dana White and the rest of em until these guys and girls get together once and for all.

I thought for sure they would have made one when the whole Reebok thing happened. Taking away sponsors really hurt everyone. They tried a few times but can't seem to get it going. This generation of fighters Colby's age all saw what happened to the Coleman's, Don Fry's, Chuck Liddell's and Tank Abbots and many others. They are left battered and penniless. Hall of famer fighters who should all be good will ambassadors for the sport but somehow got used, abused and replaced with the new guy. This generation of new guys has gotta get together and figure something out or nothing will change.

Colby is a ass. He still deserves more money though. They all do. It is goddamn highway robbery when they show the payouts for people who are bleeding on live tv for entertainment. No way in hell would I let my son be a Fighter. No fucking way. He could make more money being a lowly contractor like me, or a landscaper. or even a fucking waiter or bartender. Chuck Liddell is my favorite fighter of all time, but lol at blaming the ufc for him being broke(if that is even true because I’ve never heard about him being broke), he got paid over 10 million dollars from the ufc. Anyone with a brain should be able to retire comfortably after making that kind of money.
