Is it possible for him to win? sure, but it isn't because he is a fantastic fighter or anything. If you take a look back, eventually all the good fighters will end up losing to a new young durable fighter with decent power. And that's not because the young fighter is that great of a fighter or exceptional at anything, they're just there at the right place at the right time.

Chris Weidman is a perfect example, and you can look further back as well. Fact of the matter is, eventually a good fighter will slow down, due to aging, injuries, Cruz is a great fighter, but you can already tell he has been slowing down ever since his injuries happened. He did win those fighters when he came back, but he wasn't the same Cruz, the speed in which he pivots and move around wasn't the same anymore.

So can Cody win? sure, but young people that win like this never stay dominant for long even if they end up becoming a champion or beats a legend. To be a "reigning" champ, simply being young, durable with decent power isn't nearly enough.

    Brendan Schuab is another example.

All of these guys, there's really nothing that stands out about them, they all are mediocre at standup, wrestling, bjj - i guess you can call them the "new breed" of fighters who know and train every aspect of the game, but none of them are blackbelt or exceptional at any areas. What they got going for them is that they are FRESH, and have ok hand power, and they were there at the right time to fight someone who's already been in the game for a long long time and been through many a wars and possibe injuries.

Weidman is just better than Silva. It had nothing to do with Silva aging sorry

I don't think Weidman X Anderson is the perfect example

Anderson didn't lose because he was "slowing down", he lost because his clowning level was on a 100 against a very dangerous fighter.

and Tim Sylvia is one of the best heavyweights because he was a champion. lol
come on bro, weidman is just mediocre, and i'm not just saying it now because he started losing, i've always felt this way.

all of these fighters got going for them is the fact that they train all aspect of mma, are young, durable, have decent hand power - yet master of none, and do not excel at anything in particular.

Yeah, at this point there's no way to make this case without coming off like a Silva hater.

Silva has clearly lost several steps and Weidman is clearly not any sort of unbeatable fighter.

I would defintely say Weidman excels in wrestling, distance management, feints, and mid fight adjustments.

He is not a good at all master of none type of fighter

This. Silva was trolling too hard in that fight, and weidman was a beast back then.

sherdoggers generally hate silva, so dont expect any agreement, but I do agree. Cruz is old, and his time is about up. I dont think cody will be the one to do it though.

she has heart and she is aggressive.
aside from these two attributes, what is she really good at? techniques? explosiveness? athleticism ? amazing striker or bjj? what is it really?

    just a more aggressive PVZ?

he wasn't a beast back then. he was simply the fresh young fighter who trained in all aspect of mma. he wasn't great at anything, wasn't gifted in any areas, isn't a natural born fighter or athlete, he is simply there at the right time, it could've been luke rockhold as well or any of the other young fighters if they were there at the time.

brendan schuab, matt mitrione, chris weidman.... the list goes on. i mean are any of them exceptional at anything? by watching how they fight and move, are you really wow'ed by them? and just know that they are going to be great fighters?

sure they beat a lot of veterans and big names? but is it because they're amazing fighters? or they're just there at the right time and right place?

Weidmans not a master of wrestling?

    Really?

Had to be a fluke him taking romero down, or maybe romeros a master of nothing also.

Im guessing his adcc credentials were flukes to.thats the only way you get to face andre galvao is by fluke.

Bruh I dont think youve thought this through

NOTHING to do with being 37 fighting a 29 year old.
