Cruz had no idea where he was at and wasn't defending his face

    Other side of that coin-
He got more rounds to punish Cruz, and we got to watch more rounds of an epic fight.

He's young, he'll learn the lesson and adjust.

This was a worse beating. He completely emasculated and made a mockery of Dom in one of the most savage performances against a champ ever

if he KOd him Dom and his fangirls could play the "he got caught" angle.

he got completely and surgically dominated and clowned/styled on, beat at his own game

    We all know that

But have to say that Dominick cardio is great, and it's the only reason he was able to comeback and fight not so bad after that. Even won 5 round. It's not even a chin thing, Dominick got a great chin, but that cardio is crazy

Still, I thought he fought kinda of pissed. So much for winning the talk shit. People need to stop to compare him or anyone to Conor when it comes to that

I don't think he could have finished Cruz. Dom got up immediately after every knockdown except one, and aggressively came after Cody. In the one exception, he got up and backpedaled, but was still obviously in the fight.

Yeah but the taunting made the fight so much more awesome.

Yet many delusional Shertards are still riding Cruz's nut sack and making threads about him landing more pity pat punches even though he got dropped in every round lol.

I really enjoyed the fight, Dom realizes that he was the champ, and he should have made Cody come to him...there was a point in the fight when Dom just stopped and they just looked at each other with Cody giving him the look like I'm not following you man, so Dom kept getting counter punched, the roles were turned for sure.

About the taunting, I didn't care for it...but sometimes you have to show the champ what's up.

Yup, made Dom be desperate and have to abandon his gameplan and go in there just winging shots. Basically all those exchanges ended with Dom on his ass

Fast recovery by Cruz but he basically was KO'd there.

I love how Garbrandt would point to the center of the cage, move to it, and wait to exchange again.

Stupid as it may sound, I found the dec. more definitive than a KO.

That's why I think psychologically this was more devastating. Cody made Cruz look like he shouldn't have been there.

Definitely let Dom off the hook in that particular exchange when he first dropped him, but the story of the fight was Cody's patience and athleticism.

He hurt Dom many times but kept mindful of how awkward, slick and determined Cruz is as a fighter. So you have to chalk some of it up to Cody maintaining his fight IQ and fighting his fight. He never chased or over extended himself.

Dom showed off his toughness and did a good job trying to conceal his bewilderment, and Cody showed he knows how to stick with a strategy and fight smart.

Man! When Garabrandt sprawled right in the middle of the fight!?!?!

    GOAT level clownage.

Cody is the champion. He did a great job.

Maybe Cody should have koed Cruz in 13 seconds so then people would call for a rematch more.
