Cody Garbrandt vs Jose Aldo hypothetical match up

I truly don't think Aldo gets enough credit after his Conor Hickup. He would have everything on Cody. Most advantages would go to aldo
 
Aldo is too big and strong. Vicious leg kicks, great TD defense and decent power would be tough for the Cody who is probably 20 lbs lighter on fight day.
 
Cody needs a few more impressive performances before u can put him in a conversation with Jose Aldo.
 
I don't think the fight would be all that interesting. They would probably be staring at eachother a lot waiting to counter. Aldo wins a boring decision.

I don't understand this, yes he got humiliated but Cody and Conor are 2 completely different types of boxers, Aldo is still a beast and I think he beats anybody not named Conor.

Agree for the most part but I think Cody has the heavier hands by a decent margin. I'm not sure Cody is ready for that bout yet but I would love to see it a year or so down the line if he both still have the belt. He was great controlling the distance against Cruz and it would be interesting to see if he could do the same vs Aldo and his leg kicks.
 
Was impressed with Cody on Friday night, Aldo hits much harder than Cruz, Aldo wins I don't think it would even be close
 
Cruz would be woefully undersized at FW.

Garbrandt is the same height as Cruz with a shorter reach.
 
Cody gets absolutely annihilated . Just from size alone not to mention Aldo is more skilled everywhere. -1 loss to a flash KO and People forget how good Aldo is..
 
TS, come on. I was also very impressed with this Cody fight, but dont go that far. Aldo would kill Cody and it wouldnt be fair.
 
Cody had dom's timing and loopy combos down and it allowed him to make dom bring the fight to him. Dom isn't anywhere near as technical or strong as aldo. 1 kick from Jose and I bet cody doesn't sit back and wait to counter like he did with dom.

Can cody get a title defense first before you match him up with the fw goat?
 
aldo is still a world beater. mcgregor is just on another level. aldo would stomp cody

Cody has the best striking in all of MMA and solid wrestling base. he is superior fighter to Aldo.
only advantage Aldo has is size.

Can't tell if serious. Cody gets his dues don't get me wrong, but you're reaching with the beststriking in mma. Cody ask has good wrestling, but Aldo's tdd is truly second to none.

It'll be a good fight, but Aldo has a clear advantage in my eyes
 
even though he's 145 now, barao would be a better match-up.

i think barao smokes him tbh. tj is just that guy's dennis halman.
