Hooft is no stranger to Thompson’s game having helped Vicente Luque prepare for him at UFC 244, but a tough Luque was essentially outmatched.

So having already deciphered a game plan for Thompson (16-4-1 MMA, 11-4-1 UFC), Hooft knows the kind of challenge Burns is in for but is confident that “Durinho” has the tools to beat him.

“It’s very hard to prepare for Stephen Thompson,” Hooft told MMA Junkie. “We already fought him once with Vicente Luque, who’s a really good striker, but Vicente learned a lot in that fight. It’s a very difficult style. He’s technically very, very skilled. He has good movement, very good eyes, but some fights he’s a little less. You saw that against Pettis; you saw it against Tyron Woodley. If he trained good and he’s well prepared, we have a hell of a fight. If not, Gilbert can knock him out, he can choke him out, he can do it all.”

Sounds like Henry is hoping for Thompson to be off!! I'm not ;).

I think this is an awful matchup for Burns. I would have gone after the Chiesa fight myself.

WB is going to stuff his TD attempts, and piece him up, and TKO him sometime after round 2.

Burns is a front runner with 0 heart but Wonderboy is old as hell. Anything can happen there but I’m picking Wonderboy via tko.

I doubt it. I see WB streamrolling Burns. If the odds are in anyway close I’m going in big on Wonderboy.

WB isn't a gatekeeper he's a top contender lol. He's pretty much the only interesting fight for Usman really

Yes the fighter who lost to Till Pettis and Woodley twice will surely be challenging for Usman lol

I have no idea why he is so hyped

He is basically the new cowboy

bad matchup for gilbert, imo he about to get pieced can`t see
how he`ll close the distance

I'm telling you, Burns is chinny. Yes he can throw a punch but he isnt good at taking a punch. He's gonna get caught coming in by WB. and IDT he can take WB down.

You’re a dumb piece of shit.

Till was a hometown robbery. Watch the fight and check out the media scores instead of just looking at the record, casual.

He was piecing up Pettis until that KO, a shot Pettis wouldn’t land if they fought another hundred times

He didn’t lose to Woodley twice, the first fight was a draw and arguably a win for Wonderboy

He’s dominated good fighters like Masvidal, Luque, Whittaker, Rory and just made a killer like Geoff Neal look like an amateur

Hooft is the most overrated striking coach out there.

Wonderboy via KO or complete domination with at least one 10-8 round.

lol apparently everyone's favorite fighter these days "wins" but somehow they don't

I fucking hate this shit that's being recently where everyone's losses are being revised into magical "wins"

that's not how this shit works

You either win or you don't

you don't lose 3 fights like that by luck..
