I think that’s unconscionably foolish. Ethnic identity is perception. We are all migrational mixed people. It only takes two generations to change that perception of race from being seeing from one seeming certainty to another.

All identity is perception of course, it doesn't make it any less meaningful to the vast majority of humanity who find their identity to be deeply important. Identity might change in an instant, or it might endure for millennia, but regardless it's a fundamental part of mankind. Trying to ignore that is what created Yugoslavia, and a ton of modern countries which are wartorn for decades because people are denied ethnic sovereignty.
