CM Punk to MMA?

He's a white belt whose had a few training sessions with Rener Gracie. Why would he suddenly 'decide' to do MMA?

If he really wants in he should go through TUF

Otherwise no

What weight class? 185? Could possibly make an impact, he can afford to train 24/7 w/ the best guys.

Who is he and why should I care?

Dumbass haters.

Regardless of how far he would end up going, he would bring eyes and money to MMA.

Even if you don't give a shit about MMA's overall sucess, there is no reason not to bring in big names.

TUF is a good option for him. Even if he doesn't win, he can still get some fights, just like Kimbo.

Terrible idea imo.

CM Punk and whoever his opponent could make bank just by name value. Putting themselves on TV, for pretty much free would be a waste and the magic would be gone by the time the series is over.

agreed. TUF is full of average joes with the occasional Kimbo. CM Punk is way too high profile to be one of the guys in TUF.

I just don't see them putting him in with no fights. The James Toney thing was a fluke and Dana has said he won't be doing anything like that again. Brock still fought one fight outside the UFC first, and he at least had credible competitive experience in his background. UFC passed on Herschel Walker and he is a much bigger name than CM Punk. I've barely heard of him, and the only reason I have is that he is mentioned here occasionally.

So important he made two threads on it.

These 'big name guys' who want to go to the UFC, should do TUF. You guys are right. I might actually watch an episode then. After BJ and Huges done it, haven't watched it since.

he's got plenty of money.

i'm guessing if the reason he left wrestling is because of the wear and tear from the schedule he wouldn't do MMA because a single training camp would probably be even more hard to do.
