Fox Sports 1 just aired a Evolution of CM Punk special.

They brought in a guy who was 6-2 in MMA to fight punk for 3 rounds.

RD 1: couple jabs and kick landed by punk. Guy takes CM down fairly easily, quickly gets side mount followed by back control with Punk fighting off an RNC to the bell.

RD 2: Guy takes Punk down again. Goes to the RNC and Punk taps.

RD 3: More or less the same. Guy takes CM down, but he circles out of it. LOL They play hero music as Punk escapes and lands paddy cake punches to the side of the guys head. Guy rolls out and locks in an arm bar. CM taps.

His stand up looked robotic. Clearly not a natural striker. The avenue he was allegedly good at (BJJ), he wasn't. That guy was all over him cheap suit style.

It may have been better if Punk fought Mike Jackson instead.

Any idea on how CM is supposed to win the fight?

They can all hate on CM Punk (and I hate the fact he is fighting in the UFC myself) but you cannot deny the balls and heart he has to step into the octagon at his age and fight someone younger, stronger and hungrier with much more complete skillset.

Im rooting for him even though I know he is outmatched.

That footage was from March 2015. I'm sure he'll look better in future episodes...I hope.

Well said. Even if CM looked great in sparring or practice that can all go out the window once the fight starts. Let the man have his chance.

    It was pretty weird, dude.

His escape was okay, but other than that, it looks like he started training last week.

Kinda wild to think how they can okay a fight like this.

People might bring up Brock but Brock was a Division I Champion.

CM is a vegetarian guy who looks to have had very minimal MMA training.

Only really solid vegetarians I know of are the Diaz bros. and that's because they grew up hood as fuck.

Jon Fish went vegetarian, then got KO'd by Hendricks and started using that vitamin S.

Hopefully CM can improve, but from what I've seen in semi-recent pad sessions, it doesn't look like he has progressed much.

He was holding back and didn't unleash the GTS. I knew he was playing in the fight and didn't want to show his hand and skills. very smart!. Punk has beat Kane with the GTS and Kane is legit 7 foot, also I see Punk hit the GTS on Mark Henry who is the worlds strongest man winner and beat him. Gall is a lamb to the slaughter.

That doesn't do anything to take away from the rest of the card.

Stipe Reem alone is worth the price.

    Browne Werdum II

    Faber Rivera

And if you don't like Punk, there's a good chance you'll see him take a nasty loss.

    Solid card all around.
