Clint Eastwood blasts 'pussy generation' in Esquire interview

I think the pussies are the ones who are scared of immigrants.
Well, when they come from a religion that likes to blow itself up for fun, it's pretty scary. Unlike you, I can't defend myself against explosions.

It's not a matter of defending yourself. It's a matter of keeping threats in perspective. Some people live their lives in fear of extremely low-probability events, while others are more rational and braver.

ignore Clint
Ignore him because he grew up racist or because racism was more rampant while he was growing up?

I mean, you're not hating on somebody just because they're old, amirite?

I keep the threat in perspective. I'm not so much worried for myself, but for the next generation and generations that follow. Call it foresight if you will. I call it common sense.

I call it irrational freaking out--like someone having a panic attack because they see a spider.

Badass? He's an actor guys. Is it really that hard to tell the difference between real badasses and those who play one on TV?

.... You should the eff up.

High Plains Drifter is one of the best western films of all time bro.

If you saw a rat in your home, would you deal with it then, or would you wait for them to multiply before tackling the problem?

I think most educated people realize that dimwits in every generation in recorded history thought that the next generation was "pussified" (generally, you'd see less crude language), but it's also true that pretty much since the beginning of America, every generation has acknowledged, "OK, things were fucked up for black people before, but now the pendulum has swung too far in the other direction, and people are complaining about nothing." Now, in fact, things have been getting progressively better, but I think it's a good thing that we've moved past fighting against lynchings and toward fighting against oppressive policing.
Safe Space Culture=pussies.

Like I said, I wasn't arguing what the smarter position is. You used the term pussies with the idea of allowing in immigrants and all I'm saying the more pussy position is fear of letting them in.

I would say the most pussy position of them all is to let in people you don't want to let in because you're afraid you'll be called a racist.

This "pussy generation" has given us kinder, less criminal, less promiscuous, better-behaved children and teens than in decades before. These are definitely good things.

So the days of drinking until you puked up blood and then having unprotected sex with the town bicycle are over? What a shame. What a shame.

Clint is at the age where he thinks the characters he's played is his real persona.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly may be the greatest film ever made, but don't let it go to your head, Clint ol' buddy.

The problem is, some events can cause a chain reaction which eventually cause a larger event that affects us all. World War I was caused by a low-probability event. 9/11 was a low probability-event. Right now, the best way to avoid a clash of civilizations is by adopting a very conservative stance towards taking in any new Muslim immigrants.

One big terrorist attack, and you can have 9/11 all over again, which means war, which means that the world will once again be de-stabilized. It is better to wait for the time of heightened tensions to pass over, instead of increasing the probability of something terrible happening. This is simply pragmatism, not fear-mongering. There is no need to give credibility to the far right by continuing to be naive towards this potential problem.

It's a sad state of affairs.
I used to have a drunken bikefuck and held my head high, pride in every thrust and grunt.
Nowadays people just don't try.

Those people are simply the other side of the "progressive", socialist, collective, demoralized movement, whatever you want to call them. What I'm talking about is Americans like this:

The idea of whining or making yourself out to be a victim wouldn't even be an option to "real" Americans. They were a people who did not apologize about their existence to anybody.

And Patton was disliked by many people and wanted to run for politics but no one liked him.

It looks like the world has passed us by, old friend. As the great Dr. Seuss once put it, "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened."

Hard to believe the conversation with the chair happened four years ago.

... Maybe not

He's played enough Cowboys he thinks he might be one.

I do love how the dumbass conservatives think an actor playing s character is what a real mans man is. They pick and choose when they like Hollywood.

Patton was disliked by many people in power.

I legitimately think Trump might be a reincarnation of Patton. If only he was even half the man, he would make a great President for the United States.
