Its like everyday Sweden is doing something new to up the ante. Its almost an intentional attempt to demasculinize their society so that it is ripe for invasion. As to the church. Look if the church does not really believe the Bible is the word of God that is one thing. But how sad is it that people that purport to be religious are willing to abandon their faith for post modernism.

The Church of Sweden is urging its clergy to use gender-neutral language when referring to the supreme deity, refraining from using terms such as “Lord” and “he” in favour of the less specific “God.”

The move is one of several taken by the national Evangelical Lutheran church in updating a 31-year-old handbook setting out how services should be conducted in terms of language, liturgy, hymns and other aspects.

The decision was taken on Thursday at the end of an eight-day meeting of the church’s 251-member decision-making body, and takes effect on 20 May on the Christian holiday of Pentecost.

A former state church, headquartered in Uppsala, some 37 miles north of the capital, the church has 6.1 million baptised members in a country of 10 million. It is headed by a woman, Archbishop Antje Jackelén.

Jackelén told Sweden’s TT news agency that a more inclusive language had been discussed as early as the 1986 conference.

“Theologically, for instance, we know that God is beyond our gender determinations, God is not human,” Jackelén said.

The change was met with criticism, however. Christer Pahlmblad, an associate theology professor at Sweden’s Lund University, told the Kristeligt Dagblad newspaper in Denmark that the move was “undermining the doctrine of the Trinity and the community with the other Christian churches”.

“It really isn’t smart if the Church of Sweden becomes known as a church that does not respect the common theology heritage,” he said.

As to me this has nothing to do with theology. This has to do with societal decay. the Mujahadeen are smacking their lips right now.
 
All for it. A maternal god figure is probably a much better way to model decent human behavior than a paternal one.
 
It's' only a matter of time until they start referring to God as Allah anyway.

Just burn all the churches and be done with it. Norway had the right idea.

Come to think of it, Norway has a way better immigration policy and handles the refugee situation better too.

Maybe I'll have to jump ship from my heritage and latch onto 'Scandinavian'
 
Its for the best, wouldn't want to trigger God should He identify as non-binary.

Logic isn't a sign of societal decay, but I do get your point. This will he viewed as weakness by a certain religion.
 
Old news. Organized religion has been flushed down the toilet in Nordic countries anyway, so at best this will only serve to hasten the demise of the church among those who still hold some fundamental beliefs.

The sooner we get rid of Christianity in the north, the better.

Yes, the decay of Christianity will give increased room for social progressives and Muslims to fill the void, but Christians, at this stage, are too intellectually castrated to be any kind of a positive force in the name of preserving tradition and upholding moral values. So it's better that they'll just disappear. Rationalism and objectivity must become the new "tradition" in its place, and it shall be held onto by the new generation of "conservatives", ones separated from faith, but repelled by the irrationality and unchallenged idealism of modern "progressivism".

Christians are completely counter-productive to their message at this point. Ignorance, faith-based arguments and sticking to long-disproven dogmas rather than factual arguments, causes them to basically be a force against sensible, pragmatic "conservatism", enabling more room for progressive and relativist arguments to operate than what they would deserve based on their own merits.

If you are still a Christian, you should ask yourself. What have you preserved? What principles have you held onto? Which people have you convinced about the righteousness of your ideals? If the answer is none, as it likely will be (especially when it comes to the overall efforts of your church), you should probably fuck off, and leave the conservation of good ideals and morals to the people who can actually handle such a task.

Oh the drama. Why do you care so much what they do in churches in Sweden? Setting themselves up for a Muslim invasion, you say o_O.

Another outrage thread about something that can't possibly have any effect on you or anyone you know.
