Diego Lima, the manager of Oliveira, says that he wants “Do Bronx” to get a top-10 opponent, and they are targeting fights against Gaethje or Lee for the main event of UFC Brasilia.

“I really want to put Charles in Brasilia. [I know] I’m asking a lot. But I’d like to put [him] against a ranked guy in the main event, because there’s no point in me getting Charles to fight Justin (Gaethje), Kevin Lee, or another ranked guy, if this fight isn’t the main event (if this fight does not have a post-fight career perspective).

“Regarding Justin (Gaethje) there is no negotiation. We really want a ranked one. There are few who don’t have a fight, like Kevin Lee or Justin. I think there are three top-10 fighters who have no fight."

    BREAKING--

Kevin Lee will travel to Brazil to face rising lightweight Charles Oliveira in the main event of UFC Brasilia on March 14, multiple sources told MMA Fighting. Combate first reported the match-up.

Lee (18-5) is coming off a devastating head kick knockout of Gregor Gillespie in his return to lightweight in November, bouncing back to the winning column following welterweight defeats to Al Iaquinta and Rafael dos Anjos.

“The Motown Phenom” has fought once in Brazil, submitting Francisco Trinaldo with a rear-naked choke in March 2017.

Oliveira (28-8, 1 no-contest) headlines a UFC card for the second time in his career after finishing six opponents in a row since June 2018, capped off by a first-round knockout over Jared Gordon in November.

“Do Bronx” set a new record for most submission wins inside the Octagon by tapping Christos Giagos with a rear-naked choke in 2018, and then extended the record with wins over Jim Miller and David Teymur shortly after.

The event takes place at the Nilson Nelson gymnasium in Brasilia and features Demian Maia vs. Gilbert Burns in the co-main event. Check the updated line-up below.

I think I like Bronx in this fight. He's got that new found KO power and the sub game is among the best in the UFC. Lee has been a victim to both.

Big fan of the Da Bronx. He deserves a step up, whoever it is.

Lee wins. Oliveira has a nice win streak going but it's against garbage competition if your talking about a title shot. Every time he's faced the top of the division he's gotten KO'd, I don't see it going any different now.

I’ve become a huge Oliviera fan over the last two years. He’s overcome his issues and he’s as good as anyone in the division right now imo

This one is tough. I like Da Bronx and i don't want him to lose.
I was impressed by FKL, his last fight was perfect fought. That way, with this style i see him giving Khabib a really tough fight or even beating him.
Motherfucker Gaethje is just fireworks and fucking dangerous, he can take out anyone.

I dont want Charles to fight any of those guys... they are winnable fights... but its going to be ugly.

Isn’t this the obvious answer? I really like Oli but he folds against the top guys every single time. He’s even worse than Cowboy in that regard.

It really starts to feel like Islam is ducking Kevin Lee, FKL has called him out like a hundred times already, it is. Af that makes a lot of sense for Islam.

Yeah, this is a great match-up for Islam.

Two fighters that's he's petrified of taking on each other rather than him.

Islam can continue to wait it out for a striker with zero mat skills and make out that no-one will fight him.
