Chuck Lindell entrance, Casuals begone

UFC just doesn't have that aura anymore, when there were far fewer cards than today. They were a victim of their own success. God I miss when every show was an actual event.

I'm always pumped to see the Iceman fight. Win or lose it'll be exciting

So if they cut 95% of the roster and run 1 show a month you think it'll be more exciting?

Yes. A big part of the attraction was the uniqueness and the spectacle like atmosphere of the events. Now there is nothing special, and the bottom of a lot of cards are fights that do nothing to move the barometer. I'd rather pay for one stacked card a month that got me excited for every fight over the watered down version we see now.

Some of you are getting real close to speaking blasphemy against St Chuck of The Ice and Snow and it will not be tolerated.

Chuck was awesome. I will never forgive rampage for winning that fight. I have never felt worse watching a fight than chuck vs Jardine and I miss the old days when Chuck and Matt Hughes were must see TV. The sport just isn't the same without larger than life fighters....now days it's like watching caf fighters that all look and fight the same and it's so weird to me how bland no holds barred fighting has become.

But I feel the same way about hockey. Tkachuk and pronger and Yzerman and Osgood and stevens and so many others seemed larger than life to me and made me wanna cheer and be a fan and collect everyone's card and make my ea Redwing roster look like an all star team

I think something about getting old takes the magic out of everything.

Not to be confused with his absolutely cringeworthy entrance at UFC 43 thanks to the intro by Mask from the Tapout Crew

And you think downsizing and cutting all the talent will make cards more stacked? Or will it just feel more stacked because you will only have a fraction of the talent to learn and care about?

Cards weren't stacked back then, only in hindsight after undercard talent had long careers in the UFC.... Which you're advocating getting rid of BTW.

The Wings/Av Rivalry was GOAT hockey. The talent, the bad blood...lots of Blood, the dramatic playoff series, and the can't miss games of that era. Two juggernauts with HoF rosters just putting on a show of everything great about hockey.

Yes there were some great rivalries past, but Wings vs Avs benefitted from national coverage and sports media getting big at the time. It was the perfect time and place.

Still love the Wings but nothing will match growing up during that era.

Greatest game I've ever seen in my life. Came home from working at Wendy's just in time

I actually been watching those old games and interviews with the guys involved and highlights like that one a lot recently and just reliving it

I loved that era. The wings rocked and it was power forwards galore.

My family didn't have PASS and I had to listen on the radio. Thankfully they replayed the game the next night and my friends dad taped it so I got to watch every glorious minute.

D Mac with the game winner was ::chefs kiss::

Roy was such a great goalie but also such a bitch that it was a sick pleasure watching Vernon beat on him, his Statue of Liberty fuckup, and getting chased in game 7 of the 'yoffs.

I mean, just about anyone emerging through with DMX' Intro track would be savage. ..

This would look a bit goofy with that intro. Someone deepfake it!
