Social Christian parents cut off lesbian daughter after she refuses to leave college for conversion therapy

And you're not responding to the substance of my post. I graciously accept your concession.
The Bible is pretty clear that a repentant heart is necessary for salvation. Even the demons believe in Jesus.

Sure, you have to repent. Penance is an act of faith, though, and not one that is constituted through deeds. If deeds are indications, to whom are you indicating?

How do you define penance? And do you come from a Catholic background?

Yeah. And progressive parents get sex changes for six-year olds. Next.

Not hard to figure out that this was about raising money. You get one side of the story to push a narrative. A lesbian doesn't have a good relationship with her family, so she publicly airs her dirty laundry for cash. What a hero. What a great message from the NCAA to bend over backwards to suit her.

I doubt the NCAA lets this happen for all the other partial scholarship athletes who no longer can afford to compete and stay and pay college tuition.

I just don't get how people fall for this nonsense. Of all the things you can donate money to help with, you got people donating tens of thousands of dollars to some feminist lesbian athlete because she claims her family doesn't accept her being gay. Just take everything she says at face value and donate cash. It's crazy.

I know former lesbians that are straight now so I'm not completely convinced of your argument.

So you are going to go with the religious insistence that everyone just chooses to be gay.

At what age were you simply a neutral observer, open to the possibility of being either gay or straight, but then made a conscious decision to be straight?

I don't think Christian stance is that it's a choice to be gay, rather it's a choice to act upon those feelings.

I think I was open to the idea that I might be gay at 12 or 13 - even though I'd never been attracted to males.

I'd be open to the thought that those former lesbians were actually bi, but they certainly chose to be straight now.

What do you mean "even though you've never been attracted to males"?

When did you decide that you weren't attracted to men?

I can't recall ever being attracted to guys, but I do recall being open to the idea that I might be gay.

I think the idea came about because of my shyness /awkwardness around girls.

I can see the parents point of view. You've spent a lot of time and resources raising them to adulthood and they turn around and do this to them? If it was an Islamic country she'd be thrown off the highest building so she should count herself blessed all they are doing is not continuing to fund her in adulthood. It was quite selfish to do that to her parents knowing their position on it, at the very least she should have just lived in the closet for her parents benefit.

I get that this is tounge in cheek, but I don't have an issue with them cutting funds. The don't contact us or your siblings is a bit much.

The dad did say that there was more to the story than the daughter told and I hope that's the case, but I don't see how withholding love/contact is a Christian principle.

Good ol Christians

Scheck told her parents she would stay at Canisius and would not participate in religious therapy, and her father drove 85 miles to dump her belongings — even her birth certificate — in her car.

Her parents had already removed her from their car insurance coverage, and her father took her vehicle’s license plates.

“Well, I am done with you,” her mother texted. “As of right now, declare yourself independent. You are on your own. Please don’t contact us or your siblings.”

If God hates lesbians, then why did he make my dick so hard, when I watch lesbian porn?

I finally got around to reading this story in detail....

It's pretty fucking horrific.

This is not what a family is. This is not "love" as it is taught in the Gospels.

I have had several friends back in the home country, and other conservative/traditional Asian families who came out, or decided to date someone of a forbidden race, ...sure they were disappointed...but they never stopped loving their child.

I think this story saddens me more, than it angers me.

And yes, I am on my man period

I'm an unbeliever. But so far as my parents tried to make me a christian, that effort was Catholic. But I don't just mean penance as in the Roman Catholic sense (that you would confess to a Priest, and the Priest would forgive you). By ''penance'' I mean accepting jesus christ as your lord and saviour and asking for your sins to be forgiven.

Just so you know, Christians don't believe the priest can give you forgiveness of sins. I don't doubt that's what you were taught though.

They should not have done that. It was the wrong thing to do.

This is Trump's America. Literally vomiting out of fear right now.

Are you literally shaking too???

And lol at thinking this never happened before Trump and that it only ever happens in America......ass clown.

I developed shell shock from shaking so much. Glad I live in Europe where there are no guns and the lowest church attendance in the world. Can't even imagine how hellish life is in America for normal people(aka Democrats and Democrat voting non-whites) these days.
