As many of you know Ed Ruth is one of the best NCAA wrestlers of all time.
Ruth is a 3x NCAA Champion in wrestling.
Ruth was the wrestler Jon Jones brought in to prepare for the Cormier fight. Ruth looks to be a favorite to make the US olympic team.

Looks like Weidman wants to improve his wrestling even more by training with Ed Ruth. This could be huge for Weidman as his wrestling is already at the top level for MMA, Ruth will only make him a better wrestler.

Whats your guys take? I really think this is a good move for Weidman because it will only make his wrestling even that much better, but thats just my opinion. I want to hear what you guys think.

Can someone embed the Video and Picture. Thanks in advance.

in the creation of this video weidman tore his ACL in both knees and broke his hands too

Ed Ruth "in town this week".

Thread failure.

*edit That's not wrasslin'

No TRT Vitor was already in trouble before this

meh

wrestling is useless in mma anyway.

Ask Daniel Cormier how much it helps.

Why does he need more wrestling against Vitor...

The combo of Coach Izzys return and Ruth as a practice partner sure seemed to help elevate Jones wrestling in that match from where it was at his previous couple of fights.

Doesnt matter who weidman brings in...vitor is still going to kick his ass.

That's precisely what I was wondering. The only thing I'm taking from this is that perhaps Weidman isn't confident in standing up with Vitor?

Ha, fighters coming off failed drug test are always worse; OLD fighters coming off failed drug test are usually downright bad. Weidman will smash him.

I assume he is just putting in work to become the best MMA fighter that he can be; training camps aren't all about focusing specifically on your opponent.

Neither are they about disregarding an upcoming title defense against a specific challenger.

This makes it out of the first round (and possibly first minute) Vitor's dead in the goddamn water.
