Chris Weidman is more talented fighter than Jones.

Weidman would beat Jon Jones in a fist fight, for the record

Yeah, people like you and the TS.

Weidman won the title almost four and a half years after his pro debut. Jones won the belt fewer than three years after his. Weidman beat Silva when he was 29. Jones has been champ since he was 23. Failure to take those numbers into account makes this entire subject a farce.

It doesnt matter when he took his pro debut, what matters is how much time he has been training MMA and thats less than 3 years. He has gone through 5 different surgeries in his career already. Its just ridiculous how much he has accomplished while facing that kind of adversity.

But the amount of time that Jones was training with a real camp before all of his milestone accomplishments is irrelevant, right?

Jones was still getting his striking tips from Youtube at the time that he made his debut and didn't start training with Jackson until he'd already won four fights. He was champ only a year and a half after he went to Albuquerque.

Skill wise yes, but competition victories still a way to go. :icon_chee

Jones was still more experienced in MMA at the time he became a champion vs Weidman. More fights, more training time, no constant surgeries to deal with etc. And taking the belt from Anderson Silva > taking the belt from Shogun, imo. And Weidman had already 2 top10 wins before Silva, Jones didnt.

Add that to his amazing improving pace in BJJ and you just cant deny that guy is a true prodigy.

The Chris... the Chris is much luckier than the Jones but not better... less talent, less speed, less training, less size, better wrestling, better jiu jitsu... not better, is normal.

This goes against the current scientific literature on this subject, ts

Its funny that all the Jones haters discredit most of his wins....saying that most are against over the hill or out of their prime fighters. Yet everyone one if his wins except for the janitor are all younger than Anderson.

...I know...fight mileage and blah blah. Still find it funny though...

so few fights in, his looks very promising. That's silly to say because of his performances, but we still have to see him beat lyoto, belfort, Jacare, etc.

Until Jones has beaten someone with the resume and win streak that Anderson put together, back-to-back, in a completely dominating fashion, I think this case is closed.

Weidman.

Weidman has better knockout power and defeated one of the best strikers MMA has ever seen on the feet. His boxing is also more technical.

Wanna reformulate that sentence?

This post is a total non sequitur.

If Weidman is more talented than Jon Jones, Machida should be a piece of cake.

Well sure if you completely ignore how he beat Silva, how bad he looked against Maia, and mediocre of a fighter Munoz is. Then yeah he's totally more talented than Jones.

God i hope this fight happens!

Weidman finishes him.
