Chris Weidman backs McGregor to beat Aldo

A little surprised he picked McGregor. Though at the same time, why should I be? He knows what it's like to beat the unbeatable champion.

Yeah, and in fantasyland a 250 pound Mighty Mouse would destroy the entire UFC roster with ease.

But in the real world, The Chris would pick Aldo up and throw him around like a child before pounding his skull into the canvas and turning his brains into a living mush.

in the real world if aldo and weidman got in a fight aldo's boy JDS would jump in and ko the chris and mat serra back to back and barao would ko ray longo

In the real world if JDS jumped in, Ray Longo would have his boys jump in--if you know what I mean. Think of Sonny from A Bronx Tale when he says, "Now youse can't leave."

Damn...that kind of annoys me

If anyone would have some insight on whether a relative newcomer actually has the tools to dethrone a dangerous champ it would be Weidman. Although i would have expected him to have picked somelike like RDA where the whole package, wrestling, TD threat/power-punching thing was why he was pickign the upset. That he is picking a striker over Aldo is pretty surprising to me and makes me wonder a bit if there is a better chance for Conor to win than I have thought.

Fighters obviously can be wrong or biased and most people expect it to be competitive for a while regardless so I guess it isn't a huge limb he is going out on either way but just surprised.
