dude deserves an epic appreciation thread. One of the most epic just bleed warriors in recent history.
Give the man his dues. He hardly ever gets talked about on these forums. Just look up his record and the men he's fought.

In 49 fights he was never finished. The two TKO losses on his record are from a cut against Joe Riggs. And a doctor stoppage do to a cut in an epic war with Thiago Alves where Chris Lytle showed that you can not just take him out. Warrior heart

Did this guy ever fight Conor?

One of my top 10 favorite
all time fighters & pretty much
the first mma fighter that made
me realize that you didn't need
a belt or title in order to be
considered a great warrior.

Lytle has fought the elite
& mostly has fallen short...
But no one can look at his fights
& ever deny his heart & fighting
spirit. If the US fan base were
more like the Japanese fan base,
then we'd likely see more of the
reverence your op mentions..

This thread pops up from time to time, and I'm always in. Lytle was one of the most exciting fighters and he always showed up to fight. He deserves appreciation.

One of the most exciting fighters to ever grace the sport. Just a complete rabid dog.

Lytle is one of my favorite fighters.Win or lose he was always exciting to watch.

i didn't realize i liked lytle so much til i was rewatching his old fights along with my other conscious favorite fighters. of course my favorite highlight would be him submitting hardy when most thought he was being sent to the wood chipper for his farewell party. that one was beeeeeautiful.

and, yes, he had brown's number.

Refreshing thread, Lytle was a savage. Win lose or draw you knew Chris Lytle was going to bring the fight every night.

One of my all time favs. Great fighter and seems like a great guy too.Very admirable.

Lytle's heart, determination, and skill are amazing. Very dangerous wherever the fight took place. I miss that guy, but I'm glad he went out on a win.

I kinda feel like he should be in the hall of fame.

Almost 50 fights and was never finished(I don't count the doctor stoppages).

Lytle was only a part-time fighter as well and still never got truly finished.

Yeah it's been a while but he got talked about a lot a couple years back. There was always hope he'd try and save a card if there was an injury or he'd come back for a fun fight.

The craziest thing I remember bout him is if you look at his record he has only bout 4 t/ko wins so you assume he's just a sub artist but if you watch the Thiago Alves fight before he loses due to a cut, he was outstriking Alves with some nice looking kicks.

The guy had some bad luck. He took Joe Riggs down and I think Riggs elbowed him from the bottom and cut him so bad they stopped the fight

Glad I'm not the only one. I always had so much respect for Chris because he worked as a fireman the whole time he was fighting, and damn he fought well. That was back when many still hadn't brought the arts together yet, but Lytle looked great on the feet and on the ground at all times it seemed. BTW I think he beat Serra.
