I don't recall seeing anything on Chris Eubank Jr. on here. Everyone is talking about Broner as the next young boxing star but the guy looks overrated to me. If anything, I'm more impressed with Chris Eubank Jr. as an up and coming young talent. He's still early in his career but he has a ton of potential as he has recently turned 24 years old. What are your thoughts of this young middleweight prospect? How far do you see him going in the middleweight division in the next few years?

He just doesn't have the power. And I know it's easy to think that's just because i'm comparing him to his dad but the way he fights you'd think he carries atom bombs in his fists. On the plus side he has a good work rate, throws nice combos and is pretty fast and slick for a fairly inexperienced fighter. But he gets hit too easily as he leaves himself wide open to counters when he goes on the offence. He can move his head well but just pays no heed to defence when attacking. He doesn't look to be as invunerable as his father either and I've seen him looking a bit wobbly after taking hard shots.

My prediction is he'll manage to get a lesser world title, good enough to see off any domestic competition but he'll lose to any world class operators.

I pretty much agree with Aries. Very quick and slick, technically very good but has 1 thing on his mind when he's throwing, and that's landing. He gets hit way too easily and will get countered all say long against better fighters. It's too early to say imo how hood he will be as there is time for him to learn from the mistakes he is making. If he does he could be a top fighter but it all it's and buts at this stage
I think he's a different fighter to his dad in his style as they seem to have different skill sets but he's certainly as arrogant and unlikeable as his old man. I'm pretty damn sure he won't be as durable as his old fella, I was never a fan if his when he was fighting but he could certainly take a shot when he was hit, which was also easier said than done

There was a thread on him a while back where I posted some of his training footage from when he was with Floyd Sir. Its also on YouTube. He's doing well for another "Son of" who didn't have hundreds of Amateur bouts.

If he has half of his Dad's chin, heart and determination he will be doing alright.

I searched for this and saw another vid of him in a fight in, what looks like, a parking garage. What was that about?

I asked him about that while he was here (he trained with McCallum for a while at the same time as me, and I'd give him rides on occasion), he said what you don't see in the video is that the guy initially pulled a knife on him after they were talking crap to each other. Chris said he talked the guy out of using the knife, then beat him up. He's not the kind of kid to make shit like that up, he actually said: "I had no choice, he put a knife on me, so I knew I HAD to at least fight him."

Yeah, I mean, it looked like an actual confrontation/fight although the quality of the video wasn't great. At first I was confused if it was some sort of low budget movie or something.

I think he will surprise people. Not that I think he will be great, just a lot better than lots of people say he is.
